Ugly watch competition -- the results.

Thanks for all the entries. They were of a fantasically high quality, for some value of "high quality". After hours and hours of looking and gagging, here are the results.

In third place, Ron Jr's entry of the Leopardized Rolex Daytona.

This is seriously awe inspiring. It might have got a higher place, but I once knew a woman for whom it would have been perfect and who would have been delighted to get it, or a smaller version of it. And, if I had had the money, I surely would have bought it for her. For, if she was delighted, the world was a better, more interesting place.

    ---

In second place, adrian's entry of the Corum Bubble. (Wombat posted some pictures of Corums as well, but they weren't his entry.)

What other watch of this style, of this aesthetic quality can claim to have such a distinguished history, to be part of a long tradition of ugliness? Darwin gone bad!

    ---

The grand winner is wombat's entry. I couldn't look at it long enough to figure out what the watch is called. ("Konica"?)

What can one say about such sublime perfection?

If wombat will PM me an address, I post the prize as soon as possible.

Thanks again for the entries, and comments. It was fun.

    Best wishes,
    Bob

    Thanks!

    Hi Bob, hi guys,

    I feel really very, very flattered! :D :D :D

Now I can proudly say: "I'm an expert on ugliness and especially in ugly watches! I'm a grand master of bad taste!" :P 8)

Even though I've picked up the photography somewhere in the Internet and never saw the original, I was clever  enough to post it. To be honest, IMHO it's the ugliest watch I've ever seen  ... it has a kind of "agressive" ugliness! :pukeright:

But I have a hughe respect for all the other candiates and their creative suggestions! Go on, guys. If you try, you'll be able to climb on the top of ugliness, too.

    Best regards,
    Hal

    Congratulations Wombat!

I thought I had a strong contender with the "Voila"-thing but stand in awe of your bad taste .

That winning creation is simply beyond words  , do you have any facts about it???

Thanks to Bob for a interesting and funny competition :) .

No, sorry. As I wrote I picked up the picture some time ago somewhere in the internet and saved it on my computer because of it's astonishing ugliness.

    Thanks for the congratulations!

Thank you Bob for granting me the second place and of course congratulations to the winner. 8) It is very hard to compete against such 'thing'; its place should be in a hardware store somewhere between 'bicycle spare parts' and 'chainsaws'.   There were many entries in this competion and indeed, all these are watches I will never buy/wear.

I should have taken another watch  ... for example on my two-tone Breitling! Would that be more of your taste? ...

Now I found (at the watchbizzforum) a bit more information on the most ugly watch of the competion.
If youl  like it, you can buy one at http://www.uhrennet.de :

http://www.uhrennet.de => 'Aktuelle Angebote' => 'Armbanduhren' => page 5 (no deep link available)

For 332 Euros it can be your's! :P

"Baujahr neu" means it's new, perhaps from current production.
The brand is "C. Lorenzo", but I've never heard of that brand.
