Maybe they should have call it 'The underwater policeman'.
The guy could be helpful to find Nemo.
I saw an e-bay add for a watch called 'Arbutus' but the latest 'Bunnysutra' from Swatch is a winner.
Hi all
Leafing through another Japanese watch mag and I came across the following watch, the Landjager 'Rural Policeman', silicon filled and rated to no less than 2000m.
If 'Rural Policeman' isn't strange enough, I have this vision of an English 'Bobby' on his bicycle pedalling through a leafy country lane....what would he ever be doing 2000m under water?!!
Anyone have any others?
Cheers
Ewan

My favorite of all time is the Moontime watch by Bunz.
You have to have a bit of giggling sixth grader in you to be tickled by this one. Guilty. :D
LOL!
I can't think of any crappy ones, but some just have very long names though. Like Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Carillon Sonnerie Repetition Minutes Dymograph...:D

I know this is a watch forum, but I couldn't help thinking of some of the appalling names given to cars.
For the whimps:
Reliant Robin
Reliant Kitten
Toyota Starlett
Nissan Micra
Ford Ka
Datsun Cherry
Nissan Sunny
For the testosterone loaded:
Triumph Stag
Ford Mustang
Dodge Viper Venom
Pontaic Firebird
Ferrari Testa Rossa
Lister Storm
AC Cobra
Trumph Spitfire
Martin :iroc:
That's why the best cars have just a few numbers and letters as an name, e.g.:Originally Posted by Chisholm

Here in Qatar, we get the Nissan Cedric and Gloria, and don't forget that the fantastic Nissan 300sx is called the Fairlady in its country of origin....Originally Posted by Chisholm

It was renamed to "Honda Jazz" for the Nordic market.
According to newspaper articles, Japanese ads said that "[Fitta] is small on the outside, but large on the inside". It's now called the Honda Fit in Japanese markets.
I have no further comments

Looks like types of steel or metal grades.

Yes Ming they are indeed knifemaking steels. I am an amateur kinfemaker and use L6 (circular saw blade steel) or O1 (tool steel). I have made about 130 knives over twenty years, including all our kitchen knives. When I buy a digital camera I will be able to post some pictures on George and Dragon for people to look at.
Martin :P
Martin, I'm impressed. Would love to see some of your work :D
Ming
About two years ago I sent Eddie a floppy disc with some pictures of a few of the earlier knives I had made. I borrowed a digital from the college where I worked. Unfortunately I have left the place since. I don't know if Eddie still has the disc?
Martin :whdat:
I certainly still have the disk, all I have to do now is find it
