I think that's a massively overlooked view in this. People never think what interests them will go out of fashion, but it will at some point. As many have said on here before, for some that came into these brands in the last few years, they've seen nothing but a meteoric climb in values, something that's not the norm, just a blip of social media and Covid.
More on topic, totally underwhelming releases. The Tudor BB 58 GMT is ok, but even that's not enough to interest me really.

Does anyone really see the market for things like a Gold Sea Dweller? I'm surprised there's not more outrage over desecrating the model in the range! People have had pretty firm views over this before, just surprised a £45k gold 'tool' watch isn't coping a load of flak - an Omega would be!

Presumably the big gold lump is really aimed at markets other than GB, China the Mid East yer Dubai wallahs at a guess, more money than sense, no concept of good taste and harsh penalties for robbers, chop, chop?

The Scotland, cos it's either dark or its raining.

I think the MOP/Diamond Daytona pair will look spectacular irl, and I like the new green sunburst DD.
GMT will be the hot new kid on the block though for a while.
    DSSD gold is a howler.

I thought that the all gold deep-sea had been released many years ago. I saw one in a genuine Rolex stall in Sharm El-Seikh.

I got suckered into watching 'Moses the Jewler' on youtube...if there is a market for those chrome hearts Rolex abominations, then there is definitely a market for an original precious metal Rolex. As has been said above, probably not so much in the UK.

As for the GMT Master 2...I can't really tell the difference between this and the original GMT-IIC model that has been in the line up for fifteen years.

A Vostok Europe from QVC has more class that that solid gold Deepsea. I've a MK1 SD43 and felt disappointed when the SD43 model was released in TT.

I never thought Rolex could take cringe to a new level with the Deepsea. Destroying the heritage of the professional line.

I think there's plenty of outrage, and will be more. Happy to add to it. It's an outrage alright.

I appreciate the response, but I'm afraid I wasn't quite serious. I'm not really a fan of the huge escape valve and ring lock text.

WG, MOP dial, a load of diamonds. I like it, but can see strong opposition from the PM haters on here.

£61k is loose change in the back pocket

Actually, those two are my favourite releases of the year.
I prefer the white mop dial though.

Yes. Rumours starting to circulate that next update will be 41mm case GMT with slimmer lugs.

The way that Rolex seems to be going with their models and pricing, they should just lump everything into one range........the 'Safe Dweller'

It would certainly need one based on the depth ratings (that I'm guessing will never ever be reached). :-)

A blingy Deep Sea. Whatever next!

Only the Explorer II now that's still unadulterated with bling. Suppose that's 2025 W&W sorted.

Full gold Seadweller 43 with solid gold bracelet 2025 rumours.

That gold/gold deep sea is an abomination.

    The Travellers Lounge….

To get on the waiting list you need turkey teeth, a manbag and an orange missus who’s a beautician with an Evoque on lease.

Plastic grass outside your new build for the XL/Staffy or frenchy to sht on, grey fence panels and a white Audi/BM or Merc yourself plus the Fade haircut, Ibiza holidays in your 40’s and a “cheeky Nando’s” on your instagram page will also help….

Don’t forget the big trainers/skinny jeans and t shirt/Overshirt combo and tattoo on your hand (bonus points for praying hands and/or “Nan”) to identify yourself at the AD…..

As a non Rolex enthusiast, I took one look at the gold Sea Dweller and simply thought that Rolex are starting to pander to their current market. Wealth in China, the Middle Eastern countries and others where yellow gold is still the go to precious metal and let's not forget the Instagram generation where a stand out look is everything. Rolex in my opinion lost the 'tool watch' moniker the day that grey prices started going through the roof and people who use tools could no longer afford them.

Conversely, I really like the platinum 1908. The "rice-grain" dial I can give or take but the colour and design is a stunner. The first Rolex where I could understand demand outstripping supply.

I would say without a doubt that this has been the poorest Rolex offering at w and w / Geneva world since I’ve started this hobby circa 2015

Such a strange exhibition from them

When a 26k platinum Cellini replacement looks like one of the nicer releases something really is wrong.

Probably. Been looking at videos of the new black bay and it really is overlapping with the Sub in a way Tudors have never done previously.

Very nice but not 3.8k nice. I’m keen to try one but it can’t be worth 50% of a no date sub 41.

I like it, but I have a view that perhaps a No Date Sub is not worth 100% more than the BB?

What a disaster in the making.

IMO, an insult to what was originally created to be used as a dive watch.
Who in their right mind or not would ever use it as such.
Though perfectly aware that is not the intension, it just says look how much I have!

The only piece that I really like is the Cellini range.

Even on your pic which is really clear the grey is very subtle. Certainly not as in your face as the BLNR, BLRO or the Green Sprite. A Coke would have been nice, but a lot of online guessers seem to think that will be linked to resting the BLRO so next year at the earliest.

True, but if we’re looking for the point when they started pandering to a rich clientele with poor taste, that ship sailed long ago!

I am tempted, but last years black bay 41 burgundy lasted 9 days and cost me £650 so I’m in no rush.

Given how predictable the pattern is with Tudor I’ll probably cave around 2.5-2.8k in a year or so.
