Rally picture from 1969. The service car, what is it? (Brand, model?)

Here's a picture of Per Eklund's Saab 96 during a 1969 rally on Swedish soil. The question among the international Saab parish is: the service car: what is it? It could be US built or is it a British built car with US characteristics like Ford had?

With the fold down tailgate which probably had an electric window it looks American to me. Ford Falcon or similar.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

Yup, good shot! Perhaps a '65 with the round tail light?

Thank goodness one of you guys found it, you can imagine the number of good looking 1960s estates I was stumbling across!

    I fancy a Volvo P220 now! :-D

I'd go with the 1965 just for the rear light cluster, but otherwise yep. Well identified indeed!

Yep I thought the waistline crease makes it look more like a 63, but I think the tail lights say 65.

I'd thrown out some other anchors on other sites as well. And there, it was suggested that it's a Dodge. A Plymouth was more luxurious and has metal striping and sometimes a two-tone paint job.

Dodge dart looks to be the most logical answer. And this is why. Read the last paragraph under the picture! I was looking for a connection between Saab and Dodge. My first hit on Google was this.

Thanks all for helping me with this!!!!

According to Google, the Dodge Dart Station Wagon was the ‘sister’ of the Plymouth Valiant Station Wagon, so I guess platform sharing was a thing even in the 60’s.

Yes, the same car basically - Dodge and Plymouth were both Chrysler brands, rather like Vauxhall and Opel under the GM umbrella.

But did they have the split tailgate?

In the 'Saab Parish' on the internet, things have taken a twist. One Saab owner wrote that his uncle used to work for Saab and that he bought one of the Dodge Darts after it had served its time as support vehicle for the late 60's rally. Saab-Scania was the Swedish distributor for the Chrysler brand and Fergusson tractors. (Later, S-S was also the distributor for Volkswagen, but that was much later).
