Seems fine now, running around just as bonkers as ever.
Will it just pass through in a day or two?
My wife did call the Doctor who said that if we think it could be stuck in his windpipe or lungs, we need to go for an X-ray at A&E.
Pretty sure it’ll be in his tummy by now.

When our son was about 6 months old he suddenly went off breast milk - he just wouldn't latch on properly and was all mizzly, but no signs of any illness.
It was only 3 days later he happened to yawn and I spotted something. He had a stick-on googly eye from some soft toy or other, stuck to the roof of his mouth, which explained why he couldn't get a good nipple purchase.
We couldn't believe it had stuck all that time and hadn't choked him. Still have no idea how it got there because we didn't give him toys and he wasn't crawling then.
My mum used to tell the family tale of when I was a babe in arms, I chewed off and swallowed the cardigan buttons of the lady that was holding me, she did eventually find them all.😁

That’s nothing. I drank half a bottle of Dettol when I was 3. Being in A&E and being induced to vomit is one of my earliest memories.. :))
Luckily 5p pieces are pretty small. Hopefully it will just pass through. You’re going to have to nickname him Vending Machine.

If brought to my place we would do an x-Ray. As long is it is past the gullet (oesophagus) and is in the stomach, we wouldn’t do anything else other than discharge with safety-netting advice, which would be:
Likely to pass in a small number of days
Don’t look for it
It’s very unlikely to cause any difficulty, but we are happy to see if any abdominal symptoms
Coins aren’t ever a problem. Button batteries, and small magnets, particularly if more than one magnet, they can be tricky. Keep your watch batteries safe.
On a personal level if it was a child of mine I would probably ignore it, however if you decide not to bother, and subsequently come to hospital were it is identified, it potentially raises safeguarding flags.
If there was any worry about coughing or choking then I would go to hospital, although that is an incredibly rare situation

I swallowed a nut from the motorbike that my dad was mending when I was about 2 years old. He said it took about 3 days before he could retrieve it & put his bike back together.

Would echo above, very unlikely to be anything to worry about, and any worry would likely have presented itself by now. However, if in doubt or anything changes, head to the hospital.
Maybe should have read the thread before jumping to that conclusion.
One of my friends kids did exactly the same thing, it passed through without issue, in fact he was congratulated on doing a sterling job.

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
One of my kids swallowed the metal ball from "Mousetrap" we were told to monitor and as long as his breathing was OK nothing to worry about. A few days later he passed the ball as he was on the potty. I washed it and called him in to see it, he burst into tears as that wasn't the shiny one he had swallowed. The stomach acid had removed the silver coating and it was matt black. He's never swallowed anything since.
If you read the first post you will see it was the OPs wife that called the emergency services not the OP. Unless the OP is called Brian and so is his wife.
Whoever called the doctor why not go with that?

He’s been fine. I did check the first two poops but his sister flushed the third so we’ve given up now.
I did think of getting a metal detector to see if it is still in him. Not sure if it’d make the thing beep or not?
We’ve been keeping an eye on him but he’s had no discomfort to speak of, so we reckon we’re safe.
