    Fallout TV series

Is anyone else looking forward to this? It's released on Prime on April 11th.

Absolutely can't wait, I must have watched the trailer a dozen times. I've even demoted the PS2 from pride of place in my game room to play through Fallout 3 and then New Vegas, my favourite two games of all time.

The casting looks to be spot on, Walter Goggins comes over really well, both pre and post apocalypse.

Definitely at the top of my watch list (well... until we get a look at Walking Dead spin-offs, AMC must Absolutely hate the UK, we've not had a single episode of Daryl Dixon, Dead City or Those Who Live!)

Watched the first episode this evening, its as good as the trailers so far!
I'm saving the rest for a weekend binge. Reviews are glowing online so I'm assuming thenly haven't cocked it up for the fans.

Never really followed the video game but the 1st episode was very good, this may be a show I actually watch all the way through for once...

Prime green-lit the second season just off the back of the trailer response I have just read. That's excellent news, hopefully not a painfully long wait for the next run.

Just finished the second episode and quite enjoying it.
Motion sickness (which I never get in real life!) when playing first person games has killed my interest in them for the last 30 years so no idea about the universe - but it’s bright and colourful and a bit violent with an attractive female lead. What’s not to like?!?

Glad to hear this. I only have two episodes left, and am already disappointed that there are no more. The show reminds me a lot of older Doctor Who series and Space: 1999.

Two in and…….un decided! I agree Goggins plays a great role ( similar to his cockroach character in Justified). I just find the leads style so out of place with her environment, but maybe after the saw scene she toughens up :)

    That’s sort of the point!

I guess she'll have to... *looks to camera* ...adapt or die.

I think it's great fun - five in, I think, three to go. Good fun, nice world-building, and not TOO nerdy. Good, dumb sci-fi fun!

Just finished episode 3. Need to pace myself (unlike a friend of mine who rinsed the first season in one day).

Really like the pace and storytelling so far. Never played the games so I coming at it relatively wet behind the ears too.

Loved the first episode and downloaded Fallout 4 the game on XBox game pass.
Starts in a similar way to the series.

    Cheers

Played a lot of Fallout 3 and 4 in my day, watched the first episode of this last night and loved it! The production design is superb in terms of the games, as well.

I'm around 4,000 hours in on Fallout 4 (three restarts) so I know it pretty well. Whilst the Vault is spot on, Mr Handy just as I'd expect (Matt Berry voices it), Stimpaks and Jet making an appearance, and the emulation of Diamond City Market very clever, there's too much missing and different from the game to be truly Fallout.

Four episodes in and it's serving as background watching; but an absence of Nuka Cola, the Minute Men, Vim, Protectrons, Synths, Mirelurks and various other important aspects, including an adherence to the buildings and landscapes in general, have left me feeling a little cold toward it.

The lead is a bit dippy for me too.

When I watch it I'm left feeling that I want to turn it off and actually play the game, which is inevitably what I do.

I've never played the game, so came to the series entirely ignorant.

I enjoyed it. I thought the lead actress was excellent, and the lead actor the spit of a young Denzil Washington.

Great design, production values, and premise.

I did think it was a bit slow in the middle episodes, and the choice of music (I realise it is stylistic) began to grate a bit after a while. However, the effects were excellent, and the finale strong. Good dark humour throughout.
So clever my foot fell off.

I loved the original game, following the storyline of the giant green mutants, deciding if a city is nuked or not, was an excellent genre, role playing mixed with the bullet time effect Max Payne had!

Saw something on Instagram about the suit design, but now have to search for the show.

    Best game was Fallout 3

I can download it on the new system, but keeps jamming, so gave up. Playing FO4, but played it a few times

Starting the game isn't the problem. I can play up to a certain point, but when it involves multiple characters during gun play. It can't seem to handle it all and seizes up.

I read up on a version to play the game, but required removing files, uploading new files etc. More than I was confident in doing
