How much is that Rolly in the window ? the one with the.............

oops had the wrong lyrics in my head :)

A new pawn shop has just opened up in the shopping centre I have to visit (Beaumont Leys Leicester) so today I nipped in, they had quite a few watches Omega etc but this was the only Rolex I saw, talking to a member of staff he said he could source almost any watch from within there company.

This was the one they had.

Crazy price John, you know the 1995 Rolex sub prices were roughly £1350 - Sub no date, £1870 Sub date, SD £2100 18carat Sub £12,000 and bimetal £3,500 no doubt a Rolex expert will correct me.

What’s 1995 got to do with it? That was nearly 30 years ago.

Perhaps I'm missing something but that price isn't bad at all for a used steel and gold sub, as long as it has box and papers. Looking online you'll pay a lot more from any other dealer, not to mention that a new one from an AD will set you back another 3.5k on top. Someone will buy that and probably think they got a reasonable deal.

If it’s H&T, “authentication card” generally means no papers.

    You can do much better.

Ahh the heady days of 95 when you could get a house for 50k and my boobs weren’t going south.

Ah, 1995. Things were Boombastic where you could have 5 on it. Britain could be a Gangsta's Paradise but it could also be Oh so quiet. Back then you had to Roll with it but you could reassure your friends "I'll be there for you".

I’m starting to understand why so many people are avid birdwatchers. Never thought the bird was actually a euphemism.
