I doubt it is only you, probably 99%+ think the same with the Times banning comments on the matter this morning. I think the apprehended ‘individual’ is unlikely to be a farmers son from the Cotswolds and I am sure the young ‘individual’ concerned has a lawful and reasonable excuse for a batch of false number plates and ‘tools’ found in the car!
I say well done to the police but doubtless they will be accused by the proud parents of discriminaaaaaaation and compensaaaaaaation demanded, in cash for preference!
At the end of the day, he is only 11 and it is the parents who should be in the cells!

Thank goodness he never had an accident and killed anyone, I think its ridiculous how due to age these young offenders can not be named.

A gang of school girl bullies in my area beat another school girl into a coma, they held her down while they took turns stamping on her head.
They were all trained as hair dressers and had a soft as putty minder woman ( well paid with tax payers money no doubt ) have to escort them about every day.
It was also kept secret from people around them, I only knew about it because its such a small community that we all knew what they had done.
In other areas the public would never have known who they were or why they had an old woman with them all the time.
So in short there was no real punishment, the UK system is totally retarded.
No wonder kids are walking about with knives, they know the UK Gov are soft.

The 'T' word was also the first one to pop in to my mind I must confess.
At 11 yrs I don't know what punishment he can/will receive. Definitely one of those cases where there needs to be provision in law to address the responsibilities of the parents in all of this.

"dag"? We used to use dag, a form of grease impregnated with carbon, to lubricate Uni Selector, Group Selector and Final Selector mechanisms in the old days of Strowger Telephone Systems. Why would he have that on the passenger seat? Or is "dag" something else these days? I don't think I'll google it!

True story - I have a friend who is a writer, and his father was the chairman of the Guild of Authors. When said friend was an easily-embarrassed teenager, his father took them on a book signing tour of Australia, so far so good.
As they arrived at each hotel the father, whose real name (as opposed to his nom-de-plume) was Dagwood Smith would simply use his preferred form - Dag Smith. Said friend was becoming aware of the amused looks they were getting when checking in and eventually asked one receptionist what was so funny. It transpired that in Australia "dag" is the small collection of poop which sticks to a sheep's tail. He was mortified, and begged his father to relent and announce them in a different manner.
Being a good father, Dag agreed and for the rest of the tour, he would stride purposefully into reception and declare "We are the Smith Family, checking in". Some years later, my friend, who had noticed no degradation in the amused reaction of receptionists, discovered that The Smith Family is the Australian equivalent of Dr. Barnardo's.

I wonder when that was, on Wednesday night from Dishforth on the A1 right the way south past Wetherby there was traffic cars at every junction and under every bridge with blue lights on. Never seen as many for years.

Unfortunately this child will be being deliberately used by his parents because they know he won’t be prosecuted.
He almost certainly won’t be going to school and they will be training him for a life of crime.

I don’t have an uncle who finished primary or an aunt who finished secondary. Once you got your period it was out of school and off to Dublin to clean hotels and save for the boat to Liverpool ending up in Kilburn/Cricklewood.
The tinkers in the X5 will be similar. Just a couple of lads earning a living with their dad at home sending voice notes on WhatsApp all day because the knacker can’t read or write.
