A great entertainer.
I still remember the long hair from my youth.
One of the great maverick players of my generation died today. RIP Stan thanks for the memories.
A great entertainer.

A great football player. He was a class act.
Very sad.
Jim
A really entertaining player. Am I right in remembering him as a contemporary of Alan Hudson and Tony Currie? Great footballers who never got their deserved chances in a dire England set up at the time.

Great footballer, he & Rodney Marsh made a great pairing.
Apparently when playing a home match, the manager used to send one of the groundsmen to the bookies to fetch him back to the dressing room in time to get changed for 3 o'clock KO.
A great character, RIP Stan.

Stan the man
He was the local hero when I lived and went to school in the "Bush". I used to see him at the Bloem quite often, I suppose it kept him out of the bookies for a while.
Another true maverick gone. The football boot story sums up what a character he was
A great, entertaining player, I love the footy from that era.
I watched a few of his goals on youtube last night.
If the shirt was untucked you knew they where a flair player.
If the shirt was tucked in and shorts a little high a tough stopper.
RIP Stan.
So sorry to hear this, Stan was a great player and entertainer from that golden era of English football.
RIP Stan.
Cheers,
Neil.

Maybe an urban legend but an absolute belter.
Stan once asked a referee , “What would you do if I called you a c### ?”
Ref replied “ I’d send you off “
Stan , “ What would you do if I thought you were a c###?”
Ref “ Obviously I couldn’t do anything about that “
Stan . “ Well I think you’re etc etc “
Wonderful entertainer . A sad sad loss .
