    Did you check Windy?

A friend in the US pointed me towards the wind forecast on Windy.com for this weekend.

It looks as if the UK weather (wind) will be very odd! This screenshot is the forecast for Saturday morning

I always check it when going sailing.

Its better if you zoom in, then tell it to show forecast for this location. Its very detailed.

I use the Weather Radar app on iPhone. It's brilliant. You get a couple of ads now and then but they're never intrusive, and it's failsafe if you need to know rain, wind, temp, etc.

I'm pretty sure it was free to download as well? I've had it years.

Used it for North Sea projects and would leave it running all the time to complement the 6hr forecasts.

For wind forecasting I've found the DroneForecast app to be rather accurate.

(It certainly feels like 60+ mph here now.)

Yeah, not a fan - although it has it’s supporters it seems. I stick to met-office with a healthy dose of ‘have we been seeing what they forecast’

Stormgeo is good for clipping the sea state/wind forecast tables to send to folk ashore - who for the most part, treat it as an exact fact and then accuse ‘but YOU said……………..!”

Met office seems to give a reasonable lookahead though gusts seem to be what we see a mean. We've got miros on vessel for Hs which has worked well for us.
