New belt day … after 37 years.

After 37 years service I’ve finally got a new belt. There have been others but this one is worn most days.

The old one, left, has moulded to my shape and has a permanent curve.

New one is hand made and lovely quality. Made in England.

    With a monogram imprint.

    Got it here. (No affiliation)

I suspect it was cheaper than a posh leather watch strap?!? - or even a mid range Hirsch?

I have one from there, too, a few years old. I bought in the natural leather to see it age and now it's turning a nice honey colour. Already has the curve in it too plus various scuffs and scrapes weathering it nicely.

Here's my now aged belt, on some heavyweight Samurai denim which is also wearing in nicely.

Thats just was what I was thinking.

Send it to Silvermans, they will hint that it was worn on "The Balcony" or something and charge a small fortune for one.

I bought what I presume is a fake Levi's belt at a Turkish market 22 years ago. Still going strong. Best £10 I've ever spent.

Looks like it’s wearing well, feels like it will take a bit of breaking in.

Nice idea but the leather would be too thick wouldn’t it?

I’m pretty much on the same hole too, eat sensibly and exercise. 👍

Partner bought me an oak bark tanned belt from here: https://www.handmadeleatherbelts.co....-leather-belt/
Leather comes from JFJ Baker the only oak bark tannery in the UK.
It’s a great looking belt and will only improve with age, comes with a leather key fob/polish/leather balm.

I bought a brown belt from them last year and I'm very happy with it. My black work belt is also on it's last legs. I'll be buying the replacement from handmadeleatherbelts. FYI they are closed until mid February.

I borrowed this belt from a school mate in 1978. I was 16 and had a 28” waist. My mates dad worked for Philip Morris, and the belt had a lovely Marlboro buckle depicting a cowboy on a horse. The buckle sadly went missing many years ago, but the belt remains and is still in use although my waist is now 32” and I’m on the 3rd hole from the end.
