Rolex Warranty Card - Does this look genuine?

I’m thinking of buying a 116264 Rolex Turnagraph but am feeling a bit uneasy about the Warranty Card that comes with it, and wondered if anyone feels the same looking at it?

Not particularly bothered by the delamination as I’‘ e heard of this happening.

My main concern is the pattern on the strip where the address of the buyer and date of sale are written.

On every example I can find this strip has a ROLEX pattern repeated in green. On this card it just a has random triangle design.

The card is dated 2012 and I have looked at earlier and later cards on-line and all have the ROLEX pattern.

Has anybody seen this triangular pattern before, or can verify that it is correct please?

Just realised as well that the watch serial number is Z dating to 2006, but the card is dated 2012.

The way the green ink spills over to the gold banding on the left edge is suspect as well.

I have invested a lot of time in recording papers and warranty cards, including the creation of a large library of macro images.

For a number of reasons and with a high level of confidence I believe that this card is correct, albeit that the date of sale might be later than typical for a Z-case number.

I have specifically recorded and photographed this style of signature strip.

The following gobbet details what has accompanied watches from the last examples sold with classic papers through to those with cards of today :

    Addendum :

One of my companies had 116264 with case number Z20233x, very close to yours.

Finding watches of the same model ref. in what appears to be the same batch will never prove that a watch or its card are correct, but it is a comfort when they are --- and conversely a worry if apparently out of place within a batch of different models.

Thanks Haywood, that’s brilliant info. I hadn’t managed to find a single image of the rhombus design cards.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Thanks Doug, hadn’t noticed that but it doesn’t look great.
