Thread: Christmas Day Watch

  1. #51
    This one for me

It was my late father's and Christmas always reminds me of him.

Plus, it's helpful to be reminded of the day of the week during the festive period!

I’ll be wearing my dad’s date just. He bought it many years ago from a shop in Buenos Aires. He was a very modest man and never treated himself to anything, until he bought this. He could never believe that he could own a Rolex. Back then I guess the brand meant more than an Instagram pic or a quick profit. He passed away in May this year so it means a lot to me to have the pleasure to wear this over Christmas

Even without the attached sentiment, that’s a beautiful watch.

It will be this one for me. Something about the richness and warmth of the colours makes it feel appropriate. (Yes, I’m aware how ridiculous that sounds.)

Not at all, Colin, and that's a lovely example of the best vintage reference.

Incredible that a 'What watch on Christmas Day?' thread has two pages before Christmas Day has even happened.

You lot must have done all your wrapping already

Unless you bake it for less than 60min this iteration of the el primero is not that useful! I still cannot understand why they dropped the 12 hr totaliser.
A really nice watch to look at nonetheless!

As Christmas is a time for family, I'll be sporting my late grandfather's watch.

Only one I’ve bought this year, lost a bit of interest, but this one feels right

Good point well made! Thankfully it is not me cooking the turkey, as I would probably try to cook it in less than an hour! Have a great Christmas everyone.

I brought one watch to the lakes for the week…. Given the amount of rain was the right choice

Out to brave the weather for a couple hours walk and then a pint at the Golden Rule prior to Christmas lunch at friends

    Have a great day
