    Early Heuer Monnin prototype?

Stumbled across this in my travels yesterday. Unusual one to say the least.

    Monnin style case
24 hr red markers, but otherwise unbranded.
French spelling of Metres and professionel
    French quartz movement
844 stamped on case back and Etanche acier 20 ATMOS.
Not a typical style bezel insert as seen on other Monnin Heuer’s

It could otherwise be a complete Franken watch!

Anyone shine any light on this. Google hints at variants of the early Heuer watches but can’t find anything conclusive.

Monnin cases were used by well over 100 different brands, the dial on this one is reminiscent of the O&W version, although the hands are Heuer style. (But don’t look quite right) Aurore and several other brands also had an almost identical dialled watch.

Is the bezel insert a Seiko insert, I think it might be.
I would say franken watch rather than prototype,
As with all things Heuer and Monnin I would say Blackie here is you man in the know.

Edit so far 115 brands using the Monnin case have been noted https://www.mwrforum.net/forums/show...onnin-Examples

Not much to add here, but I would look at it the other way. In the sense that I think this hangs together as a watch in itself (rather than being a franken) albeit one with a replacement bezel insert (which I agree is from elsewhere).
French case, french movement, french dial. Ergo French watch?
