    Weekend bag/ holdall suggestions

As some unsavoury soul has decided to steal my luggage I am in need of a new weekend bag. The now long gone barbour leather weekend explorer was brilliant and I might just get another. However I am not big on these things and wonder if there are any brands I am missing out on.

This Filson is nice but crazy money https://uk.filson.eu/products/filson...41689601507381

The only thing I would say is don't buy a well known premier quality brand because it attracts the wrong type of attention. So I would not buy another Barbour just for that reason as you now know yourself.

Just surf the net, there are many good quality brands that have a low profile.

I have Filson stuff (toiletry bag, twill briefcase & hold-all with boot bag compartment) but bought it when the £ was stronger vs the $.

My thoughts are that, it’s good quality, but v toppy now if you buy in £. If you can get someone to buy in the US it’s a bit more affordable I think. I’m not sure I’d buy now. I also would not buy in tan because it discolours very quickly. Blue or green would be better long-term I think.

The other weekend bag I have is an M&S Autograph black leather hold-all. I’ve had it longer than the Filson stuff and, to be honest, it’s great quality and was superb value. The Mrs has an M&S one too (as well as Filson) and both I’m sure will be good for many years to come.

I use a Patagonia Black Hole holdall
Holds loads, carry handle or backpack choice.

I use a Topo Designs Global Travel 30l bag for weekends and carry on duties. I could almost go a week with it.

Have a look at Conkca. The one I have is great quality and surprisingly reasonably on price for leather.

Herring do some reasonably priced holdalls, I’ve had one of these for a number of years.

Billingham 550 is large and an excellent weekend bag. Could be worth a BIN bid?

    Includes a shoulder strap pad

Agree with Mick P. Affluent looking luggage will be targeted by thieves.
Go low profile black nylon - way more practical too compared to traditional fabrics and leather.

I use a Hershel hold-all for 3/4 day UK based trips and a smallish leather Ted Baker for anything overnight.

Both pretty affordable and don’t make me a target for thieves .

I always use Mont Blanc luggage & bags. Never had a problem.

The North Face duffel bags are tough as old boots and waterproof / water resistant as a bonus. They are quite often available at a discount.

When did duffel bags morph into holdalls?
