    Which Tudor FXD

I have been looking at both of these and I'm finding it difficult to decide which I like most. What would be your choice of the two?

If it were me I would choose the one on the left, I am not keen on the shade of blue on the other.

The one on the left for me also. The line of red text on black pops that bit more than the other, and it will suit any colour shirt or jumper.

If you are going combat swimming or want pure of purpose the blue.

    Style wise probably the black.

I have the blue and love it. Black wasn’t available when I picked it up but I’d still go blue. Having said that I would really like to have both!

I have the blue one. It is the original FXD, and that was derived from the original snowflake design in conjunction with French forces (it was the French Navy that supposedly suggested the change from Mercedes hands in order to increase the lume area back in the 1960s, leading to the snowflake hands).

If it makes any difference, on my monitor the blue of my FXD doesn't look like the image in the OP, it is more subdued and less saturated (both of which are better, imho, than the bright blue seen above). The FXD is nothing like as bright at the standard blue Pelagos.

Of course, the main difference is the bezel, and if you really prefer a dive bezel, unidirectional, then the black is what you must go for. I have a few watches with countdown bezels (the EZM1 springs to mind) and I really like them.

Have you considered the Red Bull Allinghi version? Prefer the colours of that one & subtle branding.

Blue. Always looks better IMO. The shade is spot on.

But, you are the one who has to wear it.

I tried the Alingi on a fee weeks ago with the black! I like it but I'm not sure about the carbon case. They didn't have the MN to compare.

Black for me, looks more 'toolish', blue looks like a 'summer' watch.

Do you own a sub or pelagos 39 by any chance?

I have the blue and love it. It is a really nice shade of blue. Then again I also have a black ND Sub so the black would be too similar. So for me it depends what you already have. Black will always go with anything but I guess the blue FXD will probably always be the first and probably most limited in production.

    Difficult!
The black is no nonsense, no frills, but I like the contrast on the blue.

    Getting quite cheap second-hand too.

I have tried the black one on, and I think it is my favourite, although I’m always tempted to go back to a 39

What is this sense of which you speak? lol

I know the blue is the logical choice .....

I went blue and wouldn’t swap it for black. Plenty of other black divers, indeed black Pelagos to choose from.

Is far more useful for my day to day timing needs.
