    Digital watch not GShock

Wondering if there is any other watches which offer the same but not a G Shock, not overly a fan of their straps, don’t want a connected watch.

Quite like the look of the Autodromo Group C but wondering if anything else out there similar

    Thanks

All kinds of interesting things on the Timex Digital page - some retro, some fun, some serious.

30m WR. Forty years ago, before G Shocks ruined digital watches forever, you could get small slender Casios with proper 200m WR.

There’s the PRX digital I guess, sapphire, steel case, 100m WR and looks pretty slim?

Ooh. I've already the analogue. Checking manual.... All the functions ten year old me would expect.....

If they make an ana-digi version of this two hander, I'll be sold.

Definitely works better with the smaller case when in black

For the bigger case, needs the silver.

My analogue is the smaller one, and it doesn't feel or look small, but just right, those strong straight lines give it all the presence it needs

How do you find it? I quite like the look of the steel one but I think they are quite thick? I generally like a digital watch to be on the thinner side.

I used to have a Junghans Mega that I quite liked. Seems they stopped making them though.

Yeah it's a bit chunky but I like it's simplicity to operate and its a bit quirky.

Casio's ruined me forever, if it's not solar and radio controlled/synced I feel like I'm getting scammed. 😂

    Yeah, that’s the one!

The sad thing is I don’t remember what happened to mine. But pretty sure I don’t still have it.

Now you are teasing Peter, those were brilliant.
Sadly seldom seen second hand, and if so, for silly prices.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!

Many thanks, it's a Breitz SDGA001. It utilises an e-ink display somewhat similar to those on Kindles and the like to provide a really clear and detailed display.

Thanks. I see that Daddelvirks wasn’t kidding about the used prices! I think I will stick to admiring yours from afar.

You would think Seiko would do more watches with those e-ink displays, they look excellent. Maybe they figure smartwatches have superseded this technology. Not that I agree with that.

Nice a little different to a G in a good way.

Every once in a while, I do a search to see if Seiko are rereleasing their digital Bond series. I would imagine there is a market. As an alternative to a G-Shock, the G757 Sports 100 from Octopussy is my digital grail!

Good shout about the G757 “faberge egg finder” . Seen a few on eBay and quite lovely in all stainless but slowly growing in price . Have you tried a timex Lca yet - seems the closest thing in all stainless with the closely resembling digi analog clock like in octopussy . Much better looking in my opinion than the touted Casio royale which gets praised.

I have an old Timex expedition shock.
    It is excellent.
It cost me just under £30, has multiple alarms (that can be set to sound and/or vibrate, making it silent if you need a reminder somewhere quiet) chrono, timezones, and countdown timer (very useful) as well as a hydration alarm (ie when you start it, it will give you a short reminder every X minutes to have a sip of water, helps a lot if you are walking all day).
    200m WR.
Clearly visible to my failing eyes, including in the dark due to the indiglo illuminating the numerals.
The CR2032 battery has lasted years.

The nearest I can find is model TW4B24200, which seems to be about £60 now, brand new.

Casio normally have what you want when it comes to digital watches.

Try a stainless steel or titanium i-Range, full digital, quite elegant, slim and with great functionality, atomic, solar and with a full array of alarms, timers, world time etc. It is 31 by 41 and 8 mm thick making it quite unobtrusive, though it does wear bigger than its size due to its rectangular shape and tapering 25mm bracelet.

Out of interest why didn't you buy an Autodromo Group C? Was it just the high cost?
I am quite taken with it but seems that hardly anyone actually bought one. Hard to find one that actually looks as cool as it though.
