Late 60s Seiko automatic for me. I love the way that blue changes in different lights. Cheap and cheerful

Since I got my Squale back I have been alternating it with my Smiths military 36mm during the day which is the one I really want to wear.

But at the same time want to check the timing on my Squale which is now very accurate.

Changed from one GMT to another. Bergeon tweezers arrived today, so trying out NATO on this watch for the first time in 7 years. It’s 19mm from my GS, but pretty happy with the result

Tissot Seastar 1000 chrono today - love this thing, fabulous attention-to-detail, amazing build quality and cheap as chips - no idea why I don't wear it more!

The SC Earth MoonSwatch arrived today!

So do these go under Omega or Swatch for the monthly statistics?

New to me and the first non-fitness/smart watch I've purchased in the last couple of years. Testing out whether I can leave the health and activity stats behind for a while!

Still love this, 42mm, titanium, rose gold hands, sandwich dial and a great movement.

After a crazy day caught up in the storm and its effects, nice to have a beer and peruse these Friday watches. An eclectic selection indeed.

I did not know there was one of these on the forum. I've looked at it so. many. damn. times. and think I love it but there's something stopping me and I'm not sure what it is. It's either snobbery or the fact I've realised recently that I have a LOT of divers and not enough diversity in the collection.
    How's the owning experience?

    Thank.

I own a Seiko SLA039. High beat (so 36,000 bph) and W/R to 300m. I fell for the Longines Ultra Chron when I first saw it online mid 2022. It also has a high beat movement and a 300m W/R rating. It's nice to own a Japanese and a Swiss high beat diver. They are totally differeny of course.

Mine is a late 2022 model with the full kit, so the stunner of a bracelet and the rather impressive black and red Longines nato strap.

When I first saw the Longines reviews mid 2022 I thought the watch had one of Longines 262 kHz movements as the second hand is very smooth in operation. (Not in the same league as a spring drive, but impressive in its own way). I was wrong. The movement is incredible. It is the most accurate mechanical watch I own. The bezel action is up there with the best. A 43mm case so that suits me. The black textured dial, sapphire bezel insert and box sapphire crystal make it a watch with character all its own. I can only recommend it.

David, have you ever dived with the Longines? I was very tempted by this (it looks fantastic, and the movement is very special) but was put off by the poor / lack of lume (especially on the seconds hand), and I wonder how much of an impact this is in reality (for divers - I'm not one sadly).

    Hi Andrew,

I have never used a dive watch for diving. The deepest water any of my watches ever touch is a holiday hotel swimming pool or a dip in the sea. That's about it. I always use a lower value watch if I'm ever in salt water.

Lume (or good lume) is everything to some, but a very low priority for me. It has never ever been a decision maker for me. The lume on this watch is probably better than you think.

It is a fantastic watch if like me you like a bit of modern retro design, plus it's beautifully built.

Don’t worry Tony, it was just temporary as it’s what I have for the GS. My 20mm has been shipped.

Anyway, if it’s good enough for this guy:
