Have you had the watch in your hands? I don’t think it’s quartz but more likely to be a hand wound mechanical.
Foggy
A friend’s wife found this in one of her boxes. She doesn’t remember having it so possibly given by a family member…
I can see it’s a deVille (just)
Can you help please with identification (age), estimated cost of refurbishment vs value of the watch, assuming the watch starts with a new battery (and how much would be a mvt swap if necessary). Thanks in advance.
I’d apologise for the photos if they were mine. Rest assured that I mocked him repeatedly.

I haven’t had it in my hand. In fact those photos are all I have seen so you could well be right

The state of that crystal really is very special. Glorious.
I agree, it looks quite early if it is a quartz but doesn't announce it's a quartz as the early ones would, so I'd hazard something like a 620 over a 1350. Either way, a decent one should only be a couple of hundred. Mind you, the crystal shouldn't be a problem and once you know the movement a bit of patience will deliver one on ebay.
Cheers for that. Good start

Looks similar to this one, including the strap and buckle, although it has a cabochon on the crown:

Not much additional information in the listing unfortunately, but it says it is a hand wind, not quartz, which might help. Current bid is around £30

Likely to be hand-wound IMO, no quartz notation on the dial which I`d expect to see from this era.
Crystal needs replacing, a generic should fit correctly.
Movement probably will respond well to being serviced if it's hand wound.
Previous issues with the OP means I won't offer to get involved, I suspect this could be an easy fix if it's hand-wound as I strongly suspect.
