No but I've considered them a few times and will again approaching winter. There's a couple of Youtube reviewers I've watched who review them against Red Wing and other similar brands, deconstructing them to understand materials and build quality. Both of those reviewers ranked Danner above Red Wing.

I’ve got a pair, lovely quality but come up a little tight, I’d maybe go half a size up. Bought them as a pair of casual boots but comfy enough to wear on a hike I reckon.

Worth considering Fracap as an alternative as well. My M120s are probably the comfiest pair of boots straight out the box I’ve ever had.

I have some of both ( Red Wing and Danner ) - I would put them on a par in terms of quality. Pretty good, but not amazing.

I bought a pair of DANNER Vertigo 917 Boots last year and they're super comfy:

I'll be getting them out again once the weather turns and the heating goes back on.

I also went a half size up and they're spot on.

Bought from here and a couple of sizes left:

If this is important to you, Danner use a steel shank in the foot bed of their Bull Run Moc Toe whereas Red Wind Moc Toe doesn’t.

I have a couple of pairs of Trail 2650 and they are super comfy out the box. Great for light hiking and city tour walking. I was about half a size up on what I would say is my normal sizing. But like any sizing it depends on the brand. The wife also has the same model and loves them too. I also have a pair of Mountain Overlook which is where I would give a warning that the cut of the front lacing gusset is closer to the front and tends to press more awkwardly across my toes. So whilst they are soft leather they are not as comfortable in that regards. Some of their more hiking style boots tend to have that type of cut. Depending on the model I would check out Rose Anvil's reviews to see if it there as Danner do seem to have some money grab models that are nowhere near the quality you would expect. Also shop around as often "trendy online stores" have them in sales.

I’ve got 2 pairs of the Danner Mountain Light Gore Tex one tan pair and one khaki Snow Peak. They are amazing boots and definitely comparable with Red Wing. I wear my Fracap for hiking but have worn my Danner for the lastv outings in the Yorkshire moors and I really can’t complain.

Some of the best quality money can buy, get them resoled and refurbed endlessly and just so comfy and well made. Can’t speak highly enough plus James Bond wears them so…..

    Danner boots

Best Moc Toe recommendation after cutting many of the usual suspects in half.

I’ve had a pair of Moc toe for a few years and fantastic boots, heavier than Red Wings and thicker leather.

Agree, mine are true to size and seem generous enough width.

I agree. Looking through the winter boot thread with interest as looking to replace trusty 6” Timberland’s but I want to use them for proper walks and not worry about keeping white soles clean

I’ve not bothered cleaning the soles.
