Nice car for sale, but weird seller.

Browsing the adverts in Classic Car Weekly, I came across this little gem:

"Triumph Spitfire. 1977. £2900. This car was owned by my husband who passed away and has been covered and not used for two years".

    By 6ft of soil presumably.

Excellent! I wonder how that sort of car would fare in modern traffic? I remember driving a then-20 year old MG Midget around the new M25 and South London in my first job in the late 1980s, and it was a hairy experience even then.

TBF, it's not really an issue. My Spitfire (admittedily in the 1980's) was easily able to keep up on the motorways, and these days the traffic is slower due to the prevalence of speed cameras.

I sold my MGB last summer, but would more than happily take it on a motorway if needed. I may not be in the fast lane, but I wouldn't be to worried about it.

That being said, if you have a little Brit sportscar and spend lots of time on a motorway, you're really missing a trick. Get a phone holder, get Calimoto, get a twisty route and love your driving again.
