    Everything but the kitchen sink…

    Good evening all!

I am looking for a new kitchen sink, stainless steel, 1000mm x 500mm single sink and drainer. The range of options and prices is truly mind boggling. I am happy to spend more for better quality but am wondering where the sensible price cut off is, if you know what I mean? As in, I get that £80 is going to be budget friendly but low quality. Should I spend £180 or go to £300, what is the real difference etc?

So, basically I am looking for some advice/experience/recommendations?

I would visit a few kitchen places. When my kitchen was done, the biggest sink was chosen without a draining board and a suitable tap. Designs were quite fussy and ended up with a Blanco sink and tap. It was plain as can be, almost bordering on industrial. I cannot remember the price.

Franke S/S sinks are very good - not flimsy and no ‘wobbly tap’ worries.

    Good advice, thank you.

And I will add blanco to my list.

Yes Franke are one of the problem brands! As in, the reviews of the cheapest ones say something to the effect of, “not all franke sinks are created equal”.

We did one of these in grey, love it and matches the grey stone worktop so well vs stainless which was too bright. We have a Franke in the utility, it’s solid, but nothing on the granite sink.

UPDATE: went for a Blanco Lemis. A place called builderdepot online had them at least £100 less than anywhere else. It’s a really well made sink, definitely would recommend.

    Thank you for the suggestions.
