    RIAT 2023

It's close approaching that time of year again so.......anybody going from TZ ?

I've not been since about 2016 so I'm more than due a return trip.

Fingers crossed for the weather being on the good side.

It's quite a brilliant weekend of aerial entertainment if you dig that stuff (which I do)

Some old photos I snagged many years back.

Also there’s the Flying Legends show up at Church Fenton, it was always great till Duxford wanted them out and well within east reach for anyone in the north.

Although I've been to several air shows in other countries, I haven't been to one in the UK. Is it worth going to RIAT on the Friday?

There's all the arrivals to see and routine practice/demo that some of the aircraft perform before the Sat/Sun show so I'd say yeah, it'd be worth the trip.
A bit more space to breath if you can get on the base of course at short notice.
    Make that call ....🤞

    Nice little set there!

I love the Typhoon (although I’m biased!), even though the twinstick isn’t the best looking variant.

Was hoping to get there on the Thursday for Friday, but too busy with work now sadly. :-(

It's a great event! Worked there, think it was 2016, first time I saw an f35 in the flesh, now that was amazing!

If my prime invites me yes, otherwise no, it’s work after all…

LOL me too, used to help out with the IT pre, during & post show.

Haven't done it for a few years now.

I’ll be there on the Friday. First time since I retired and will not have the luxury of chalets this time.

Haven't been since 2007 but might go again in a year or two to bring my boys. Have loads of RIAT photos up on airliners.net, remember seeing the B2 bomber fly by which was impressive.

Not long home from a Chinese weekend there.
As said, weather could have been a whole lot better for bloody mid July but Hey Ho.

It was a bit disjointed because of the weather, some of the potential smaller stuff never made it to the skies due to blustering but it's always very nice to see/hear/feel the fast military stuff.

Not yesterday but today, both the Messerschmidt 262 and B-52 Stratofortress made it up.

Had a Super Hercules and an Osprey flying as a slightly mismatched pair in a loose holding pattern directly overhead us on both days, seemingly awaiting their time slot. No matter how many times I see it, the V-22 never fails to make me stare in wonderment.

Loved seeing the harrier again, what a machine. It Looked so much better at hovering and manovering than the F35 did. Would of loved to see a display by the tornadoes. The rafale, Italian eurofighter, Saab and super hornet were all great displays. The messerschmitt 262 was cool to see.

The UAE display team were great. Red Arrows a bit loose :(
Harrier was fantastic to see again (a favourite to fly in DCS) and I’m sure the F35 is only a step away from not even needing the pilot at all.

Best thing I saw was an inflatable sofa someone carted in.
