Glasto 23 - who have you enjoyed?

I went in 1993 and 1995 on a freebie before the fence was strengthened so you couldn’t bunk in.

I do like a couple of beers watching the line up, but it is not a classic this year.

Will try for tix next year to see what the fuss is about 30 years later, and when you become an oldie.

Older kids are looking forward to the Arctics, and I am a little partial myself.

Missed the Foo Fighters if they were broadcast. Watching their 2008 Wembley concert on Sky Arts to make up for it.

But brilliant. My son saw them at Reading but was really disappointed that they pretty much played the latest album and nothing else. Quite the reverse tonight, all the oldies. Would love to be there, but in all likelihood can see and hear better on my home system.

My missus is there with friends, I stupidly forgot to register so didn’t get a ticket, also missed out on the re-sale, so I’m at home looking after the dog…

Wouldn’t have minded seeing Leftfield, Guns & Roses and The Manic’s tbh..

CHVRCHES were brilliant tonight. I saw them supporting Coldplay at the Etihad a couple of days before you and they were great there too.

Both my sons saw him/them at the Emirates stadium last weekend.

Ironically my oldest has been flat out at work this week and was asleep by 10pm and my youngest (at Sheffield Uni!) is doing a shift in the local pub until midnight.

Missed Chvrches and can't seem to find it on Iplayer.
Me and the better half were really looking forward to Chemical Brothers on the arcadia stage at 10.30 but can't find them anywhere.

On the iplayer go to the ‘Other Stage’ tile where it says Carly Rae Jepson and CHVRCHES are on there.
They absolutely smashed it as usual.

I'll try and avoid all the Lauren Laverne clichés (smashing it, feeling the love, kitchen disco etc) but that was a bloody good set from the Arctics

Thought the arctics were absolutely woeful.

Turner absolutely murdering the old songs.

Completely dull band for me now.

I though Fred Again were very good.

Just watched the Foo Fighters set on iPlayer. Incredible. We had tickets to see them at Old Trafford last year but it was cancelled after the death of Taylor Hawkins. Still on my bucket list to see them though and DG pretty much announced that they would be headlining at Glastonbury next year and touring the UK. I would sell my mother to be there for that.

Yeah Ill be at a few of those shows next year, Grohl smashes it, he is deaf and rarely uses in ear monitors so it can be raw / screamy, but that’s old Skool rock n roll.

Just watched the Lightning Seeds and they were great. Surprised how may of the songs I remembered and sounded great.
Worth a watch if only for the rather attractive keyboard player.

Bit too frantic. Could have just slowed some songs down a touch but gave 100% as usual.

    Carly Rae Jepsen was good.
Royal Blood were not for me.
Young Fathers were unusual, wife loved it, I was kind of “meh” about them.
Foos were predictably full-on, great to see them back. Josh Freese filling some huge boots well. Hope to be able to see them live again next year.
Artic Monkeys were OK I thought. Never been a big fan myself.

Looking forward to replay of Rick Astley and GnR live later.

I watched the FFs - 100% from the start and very entertaining. Then I watched Arctic Monkeys: obviously a very good band with a lot of great material. Unfortunately, they didn’t play a headlining set: all a bit too slow and serious and - in my opinion - a bit too much Scott Walker meets mid- seventies Bowie going on. The audience seemed a bit unimpressed too. Looking forward to GnR tonight, saw them twice back in the day: once in a little club in Nottingham and then a few years later at Wembley Stadium. Both times they were incredible… hopefully time and age won’t have tamed them.

I enjoyed Foo Fighters though more so in the less screechy moments.

Rick Astley was good fun and clearly quite humbled to be there. I like that he’s not afraid to poke fun at himself which was evident throughout.

I’m beyond excited at seeing GNR tonight having been into them since the late 80’s. Hoping Axl Rose pulls off the vocals and he seems in good form according to fellow rocker Justin Hawkins. https://youtu.be/Rr_MMxCRA0I

Highly recommended JH’s YouTube channel. It’s very amusing and check out the recent short video clip of Tenacious D’s cover of Wicked Game that Hawkins previews.

    Cheers

Thoroughly enjoyed watching Third World but then singer AJ Brown just blew everyone away when he sang the classic Andrea Bocelli song Time to Say Goodbye. What a voice!

I take it you're still in the business/have contacts. I'm always unlucky with internet sales of tickets (even with pre-registration!) and end up getting scalped by the secondary sellers. But the Foos are on my bucket list, so I will probably pay whatever it takes to be there
