Weird problem with Citizen eco drive

The minute chronograph hand on my citizen eco drive is resting beyond the 0 minutes position. If I activate the chronograph it’ll slowly move towards 0 minutes after about 5 mins but when I reset the chronograph it snaps back to the beyond 0 position. The watch hasn’t been worn in several years and all the other functions work fine. Is there a trick to resetting the chronograph minute hand to the 0 mins position?

    Instructions

I assume that you have not got the instructions for your watch. They do tend to wander off in time.
I have several Eco Drives and the setting instructions are not all the same. A bit like Casio watches.
The Citizen website should be able to help you.
    https://www.citizenwatch.co.uk/
Just follow the instructions on the site and you may get lucky.

Have you tried a reset and zeroing the hands?

Yes, there are many types of Eco-Drive movement, so you need to find specific info. As mentioned the Citizen website does have instructions and sometimes videos for each movement type. I have a couple of Perpetual Calendar Eco-Drives. Its possible to do a full reset of everything with that movement, but despite Citizen providing a set-along-with-this video, its still very hard and time consuming, and is best done by people with advanced electronics degrees!

Thanks for the help. I followed instructions and reset the minute chrono to 0, but as soon as you activate the chrono and then reset it, it goes back to the old position rather than staying at 0. So the repositioning at 0 isn't "taking". I'll keep at it.

    Is it fully ‘charged’?
Whip the movement out and reposition it
