I was getting really excited about the Euros as, with our potential squad and team, there should only be France that should worry us. Not any more. I'm dreading it now. I can see this as his team:

    Pickford

    Walker
    Stones
    Maguire
    Chilwell

    Rice
    Henderson

    Bellingham

    Saka
    Kane
    Rashford

If Hendo and Rashford start I might not even watch them. I'd rather go out on my sword than with a defensive whimper, like this:

    Pickford

    Walker
    Stones
Guehi / Branthwaite / anyone but Maguire
    Shaw

    Rice
    Foden
    Bellingham

    Saka
    Kane
    Gordon

I’ve been saying for two years Everton need to sell Pickford, the guy is a clown.

As always will depend on injuries but Im certain he will play Shaw if fit.

Doubt Rashie will start, hes mostly used as a sub now. On the left think Gordon has a good shout, or Foden out of position.

Then it's the other central midfielder. I've got a bad feeling Rice will get injured before the end of the season, in which case panic stations!

Madness and arrogant to think it's only France to worry about! Not how team sports work at all.

Strange statement as I'm neither mad nor arrogant. I also understand how team sports work thanks but if you'd like to educate me further I'm all ears.

Apologies, I'm sure you arnt either of those two things.

    Let me rephrase my thoughts....

There's a tendancy for England sports fans to believe their own hype - premier league is the best, this player is world class etc blah blah blah

I felt saying France were the only other country to worry about was tending towards this mindset and massively under estimating Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Italy, Belgium and all the others.

Teams sports - it's never a case of assimilating a bunch of star individuals - you don't win anything on paper! Just look at Chelsea at the moment, PSG, England pre Southgate!

Doesn’t matter who starts for England they will all be stifled by Southgate’s negative tactics

Low block, slow build up, Pickford in goal etc etc.

He has the components to make a really excellent attacking team but will still continue with Maguire, Henderson and if he was fit Mount.

Big players to be missing but I still think you’ll win the game.

There’s every chance we’ll be missing Saka , Matinelli and Gabi M

I think it’s going to be a cracking game both teams going at it.

We need a new manager, the fat ginger one needs to go and he can take Pickford with him. How do you not win in 10 league matches, over a quarter of a season and not get sacked.

I’m sure the post match speech is a recording, the lads did well, our XL stats (or whatever) are superb, but we once again failed to score and win. No shit ginger, you took Burnley down, I'm sure you will do the same for us with or without more points being deducted.

It’s April next week and we haven’t won a league game in 2024.

Bournemouth away tomorrow - not a chance in hell.

I have no idea, never understood it. Who do they think they can get that’ll be better? We’re handing this game to them today though. More injuries today, Lascelles looks a bad one. Down to the absolute bare bones yet again.

Unbelievable spate of injuries today. I think you've used all your subs and Schar is walking wounded.

There’s definitely something wrong in the training regime, medical team or both. This volume of injuries isn’t just bad luck. We’ve also had a lot of repeat injuries which points to the medical team.

If West Ham fans are honest they are massively over achieving at present both in their league position and in Europe. Normally West Ham are a bog standard mid table team. Moyes did the same at Everton getting us into the CL.

Maybe they miss those relegation scraps of previous years.

I have seen some mental games at SJP but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like that. Three players lost to injuries, one sent off and 3-1 down to win 4-3. Pure character and will to win. Never say die. People like Schar, Bruno and Gordon have given us everything this season, more than we would have ever expected. Harvey Barnes as a signing didn’t excite the fans but he looks a canny player.

    Absolute class.

Worst thing Phillips did was go to City. He was class as a Leeds player. A few years on the City bench has all but killed him off. Even Safegate has dropped him from the England squad.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing eh ?
It was definitely too much for Phillips to step up into Citys team and his form simply plummeted . No hard feelings from either side but I’d assume he will be quietly moved on at the seasons end .
    That game today though !!
Watched the end of the first half and that mad West Ham goal, saw them go 3-1 down thinking it was all over.
Was in a quiet room in the hotel bar area , popped back for a refill and it’s 4-3 and just in time to see the huge miss for West Ham at the death . Bloody hell .

Bournemouth let Everton back into the game with a goalkeeping howler. Not content with stealing an unlikely draw Captain Coleman decides it would only be right to let Bournemouth have the three points that they so richly deserved and bangs the ball into his own net.

    Unbelievable…

13 matches without a win stretching back to 16 December 2023…

Equalled our own record for the most games without a win.

    Sack the fat ginger one.

Next game, Newcastle away, although we don’t have to face our old boy Gordon who stupidly kicked the ball away in order to get sent off. Deliberate, who knows…

What will a new manager do ? Your squad is dogshit.

Dyche has made you tough to beat and has kept you up, that’s the best anyone can do with that squad of players.

The sooner he is gone the better although that last Newcastle pen was well dodgy IMO.

Agree, but at present I cannot think of a team in the PL that we will beat. On paper our fixtures look kind, but we are still not winning and we are due to have more points deducted. Difficult to see us staying up this season.

Dyche took Burnley down remember, so he does have form. We need a manager who is capable of reviewing the squad and clearing out the crap, which I agree is a fair few.

Football fans flip-flip, it’s the nature of being a supporter. Since Klopp announced his departure Liverpool fans have been crowing about how Alonso is the next Messiah and that he will definitely choose Liverpool over his other options. Now he’s not interested I’ve been hearing Reds all week saying they didn’t want him anyway, hasn’t earned enough stripes to manage such a great club blah blah lies lies. It was the same when Jude turned you down despite being a done deal for a year and all his ancestors from the beginning of time being Liverpool fans blah blah.

Just back from the match at St James Park,

West Ham fans to Newcastle fans on 70 minutes "sit down if you're 3-1 down"

Newcastle fans to West Ham on 91 minutes "stand up if you're 4-3 up"

    Great banter.
