Never gonna happen - Arteta has no experience of working with strikers who know how to put the ball in the net - Salah would be off on a free transfer within 3 months.

Klopp at Arsenal would have been amazing, with his expert coaching our penalty count would have tripled overnight.

He’s the first bitter and twisted Magpies fan I’ve known.

I knew loads of Geordies in Liverpool and they were all football mad and recognised quality players and managers of all stripes. I never once heard them whine or moan. They’d get pi55ed off, then just get pi55ed. Great fun.

Not sure what’s fuelled his Liverpool hatred? Maybe, like Hitler, he was cold-shouldered while he was there one time

I’m surprised our very own master tactician Ivan isn’t in the new manager conversation.
He taught me more about hoof ba…erm precision 70 yard passes into the channels than anyone .
But, on a more serious note …………

I don’t want Gerrard anywhere near the club !

I’m sure they have someone lined up and I like Alonso but should he really be getting the Liverpool after only 60 games in the German league ?

It could all go South very quickly if we don’t get this change right.

Too much too soon could break his fledgling career before it’s got off the ground . A fabulous player in his pomp .

It has to be Alonso, surely? Would be a perfect fit.

No. I have no interest in football (other than baiting a few here when they go other the top) but I read that one somewhere else and thought it would stir the pot a bit.

When Pep does finally leave people should appreciate the huge impact they’ve both had on the Premier League and how they both drove each other to new highs.
Agreed. Mind you Pep also love his pitch side theatrics, just saying.
I concur the 2 of them have spurred each other on to reach unbelievable heights in the modern game. If Klopp hadn't of been at the helm, City's dominance would have been ridiculous.
Once Pep does finally go, and quite what else he wants or needs to achieve, it will be a time to look back on what was a golden spell...

Let battle commence for seasons honours. Liverpool City will be a huge game. practically a title decider. Would also imagine it will be Salahs last season before pastures new.

Poor Ange, it was clearly Matty Cash's fault.

Dilemma for Alonso, or does his RM background count him out?

Our midfield and forwards just didn’t click and we did well to keep it at 0-0 for so long.

The shenanigans that go on in the penalty area that aren't given by the ref, against either side, that would be given as fouls outside the box is a joke and the PGMOL only have themselves to blame.

The problem is that the clubs can’t be responsible for the behaviour of everyone. It’s a societal problem that attaches itself to football. I’ve not seen anything like that for thirty years so we have to consider it an isolated incident. The clubs will be fined as a minimum and maybe forced to play behind closed doors. They can’t be deducted points as it was a cup game.

Yeah difficult as a cup game but there needs to be some sanction that truly bites, fines don't seem to really hurt the clubs

The levels of totally unwarranted aggression from fans even towards players, never mind opposing fans, absolutely baffles me. Fans snarling and screaming obscenities at players when they’re just taking a throw in. It was happening all game today in all parts of the ground.

I’d have abandoned the match, taken them both out the competition and given the intended opponent in the next round a bye.

But I’ve never been physically aggressive to another fan or player. Those things are very different.

Much more likely they'd try to go for Arteta, particularly being an ex Barcelona boy who came through the La Masia academy.

It is stupid, look at when John Terry scored against West Ham and all his dad and uncle are swearing and shouting abuse at him!

My brother-in-law used to play in the same junior team as Terry. The b-i-l and my father-in-law never had an issue with him but really didn't like his father.
