It's another Saudi attempt at sports washing... trying to create some sort of distraction from the multitude of issues the country has.

Financial Fair Play is a complete irrelevance.

Personally I'd rather their money was nowhere near us, but that ship sailed many years ago.
    Agreed.

Personally I think the Premier league started the rot with all the cash involved.

I like to watch The big match revisited on TV. No premier league, grounds full to bursting, loads of kids getting in for 2/6 (equivalent to a fiver now).

Bog rolls being thrown on when a goal was scored and kids running on the pitch at the end to pat their idols on the back.

Mbappe has been offered £700m a year to play in Saudi. If you stay in the country 2 years, it's all tax free so that'd be a cool £1.4 BILLION for 68 league games across 2 years.

    Not bad I suppose.

Hard to say no to that! He also does seem the type to put money over playing at the biggest clubs.

And a goalmouth of mud from November to March.

More likely to confuse ourselves. I was going to suggest it was worn once away at Southampton and swapped at half time but I guess that would mean meeting them in a cup next season.

Certainly added to the skill level, especially at the baseball ground!

Personally I don't think modern players used to billiard table -like surfaces could hack it on those old pitches in their snoods and gloves.

If he plays for 8 years in Saudi, he will be able to afford to buy Real Madrid, never mind play for them!

Havertz played well and scored again last night as Arsenal beat Barcelona 5-3.

Probably the first time Gundogan has been on the losing side to Arsenal in many years .

Presumably that applies to most teams Barcelona have played to be fair.

From what I've seen in pre season Timber looks an excellent signing. Havertz adds physicality and aerial threat. Rice has been underwhelming. Keeping Partey has been vital - he was superb against Barcelona.

Arsenal linked with a move for Ivan Toney by all accounts. Strange if true- he's banned until after Xmas.

I've heard that from a couple of places now. If the price is right it'll be a cracking signing even taking the ban into account.

I'm not sure TBH. He doesn't get into the starting XI and would he be happy to come off the bench seeing as he has England ambitions? Although saying that we could stop Saka taking (and missing) penalties and get Toney to take them

What's going on with City's Gvardiol purchase? That seems to be dragging, just over a week to the Charity Shield and 2 weeks until the season starts so not much time to bed him in

We are waiting until Arsenal get involved and push the price up .
Then we walk and say we didn’t want him anyway .

Negotiations are allegedly a bit fraught at the minute . Red Bull want the full asking and penniless City are trying to knock them down a bit .There was also rumours of a leak which upset Leipzig . We are down to our last five centre halves too so it’s pretty important we get him signed up pronto

We'd never go after Gvardiol when we have Rob Holding as back up!

Check out Holding's gaffe for Barcelona's 3rd goal the other night, proper Harry Maguire stuff. 11.15 onwards

I'd love him down at West Ham although to be fair we have a youngster who has come through from the academy who has scored pretty much every game so far and deserves a good run in the first team - Divin Mubama.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Now Chelsea have been fined for failing FFP and facing a PL investigation , presumably that means City have just celebrated winning their second Champions League win ?
Am I doing this right ?

Think it was from 2019, so actually Arsenal should get the Europa League

Just fined on a technicality - rather like the Man City fine, maybe. (I mean the 2020 fine not the 2014 fine or whatever might be upcoming of course).

Weren’t Real Madrid (bizarrely) the only one of the 4 CL semi-finalists with a clean FFP record?

Must be very difficult not to break those rules.

    Almost .
City’s FFP law breaking was only found guilty in the court of the Internet Forum Legal Eagle.

Why not just tell the truth. I won everything there is to be won, I’m getting old and likely to be a squad player for the next two seasons before being released. A bunch of Arabs have offered me financial security for life playing beach football, so I’m off. Thank you and good night.

It's either that or there are so many charges it's taking quite some time to sift through their egregious rule breaking.

With all due respect, you’re an armchair fan.

I’ve been literally funding my club and cheering on the boys for 53 years, rain or shine. Decades of misery in fact, but still I went. Watching on the telly doesn't really cut it in my opinion.

With all due respect taking the tube to a game isn't quite the same as having to fly over and arrange accommodation every time.

Regardless I'm as entitled to an opinion as anyone else whether I attend once, ten or twenty times a season.

I’ll bet you a pound (or Euro ) a season since , let’s say 1950 , that City’s average attendance is better than your beloved Liverpool ? All for the Fundraiser btw .

You ever seen a SA match…no, neither have I. As long as the cash makes them happy. Some who have gone from Europe I’m glad to see the back of. Just wish they would take Naymar.

You’d have to do it per capita.

Manchester had 2.4m people on 1950 against Liverpools 1.4m.

    City 1950 average attendance 39,381.
    Liverpool 1950 average attendance 38,294.

City just over a 1k more per game despite having 1m more people in the area.

Given you are the spelling police you'll notice I said the emptyhad not maine road, do you really think it makes you look clever to pick a stat you have already fact checked and then offer a bet off it?

But if you need the 73 quid just shout I'm sure we can pull together a care package for you 😉

If he told the truth he’d have to add that all his very public efforts to support the NHS during Covid, women in football and LGBTQ organisations were just a PR stunt to improve his image and get an MBE.
