Thread: Strap options for the Omega Speedmaster

Strap options for the Omega Speedmaster

I recently purchased a Moonwatch from Alec here. This is my third Speedy but the first sans bracelet.

The watch is currently on a black sailcloth which looks great, but I am now looking to build out a little Speedy strap collection.

I am looking for some diversity: maybe a vintage brown leather strap to wear with a suit, something colourful/bold for the summer, and I like the Omega velcro strap for the Speedy (but not the price tag). With a velcro strap I would like to make sure it isn't too long (with any 'overhang'). I already have a box full of NATO straps.

    Thanks in advance, Alex.

The speedmaster is the ultimate strap monster imo.

Brown Hirsch merino Nappa would look great on it.

I loved mine on a tan ostrich, looked fantastic especially in summer.

I tried it on a white leather but it didn't really work, that and rubber didn't suit it that well

I have a Pav Rallye on mine, photo doesn't do it justice, as above, the strap options are huge with a Speedy.

    Cheers..

Pav straps are amazing, great quality plus handmade beats machined every time.

Absolutely, this isn't a Speedy but its another Pav strap that would work well on one.

    Cheers..

Pretty much anything, but my favourites are black/brown rally or the "Snoopy" style nylon with Omega deployant. I had a distressed yellow leather one which worked well too.

The world is quite literally your oyster. There arent many straps that the Speedmaster doesnt suit. Plain black leather or a more vintage JPM style strap, either look great.

Brown straps on a black-dialled steel watch never look right to me, I would go for something black and reasonably padded, its a big watch and a thin strap won't really work.

Like this, perhaps (although I also like brown as an option, and vintage/rally style for either colour)…

Echoing the comments from earlier in this post, of all the watches I own, the Speedmaster is the most versatile for straps.

A cheapo FKM rubber strap, but imho very good! Available in plenty of colours, including black.

Gas gas bones have some lovely velcro straps with very cool buckles.

They can be found for about £25 on eBay by searching: moonSwatch rubber. They are commonly seen on moonSwatch watches but also fit the Speedmaster Pro (for obvious reasons).

However, after trying one from eBay, I’ve been ordering the same product from Ali Express (same search term) for about £5 each.

If you want bold colourful and ridiculous then you can have my pollock strap for some quids into the FR.
It has no home cos when I sold my speedy to QW he had the audacity to not want it.

Tried them all over a period of 30 years.
IMO nothing looks better than a black rally style.
Bulang and sons are hard to beat.
