If you say so. I will check with Matt Baker.

Ah, my first guess was wrong, its the Aleution Islands you mention that actually do it.

But if it is the most eastern - how can it be the most western? The inclusion of the Aleutian Islands enables the one but disables the other.

They cross the 180° meridian into the Eastern hemisphere. So effectively those islands are far further east than any other part of the states.

Look at the map. Some Aleutian islands are in very far western longitudes and some are in very far eastern longitudes.

There is a small town in Alaska, which as it was growing from a handful of houses into a community - required to have a name.

The locals wanted to call it after the Ptarmigan (now the State bird of Alaska) but they were unsure of how to spell it, so to avoid embarassment - they decided to call the town.............................. CHICKEN.

The Vadoma tribe in northern Zimbabwe are best known for their Ectrodactyly. (They have three toes.)
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vadoma
This is due to the limited gene pool in the tribe as a result of their remote location and rules that prevent marriage outside of the tribe.
It is thought the genetic mutation helps them climb trees as part of their hunter gatherer way of living.

Oddly enough, until fairly recently we used to have a meat raffle at the club on a Friday night. Your comment brought back memories of winning a prize and then getting home, after more than a few pints, and attempting to 'cook' it. Irrespective of whether this was indeed practical!

There was a sad story that Eric Clapton managed to find an incredibly rare left hand Strat and had bought it for Hendrix as a gift. By the time Clapton got back to London Jimi had just died. The upside down guitar could have been a thing of the past.

War memorials in Russia carry the dates 1941-1945, because they want to forget that for the first two years they were basically allied with Nazi Germany, supplying them with oil and materials, invading Poland, attacking Finland and annexing Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
