    Century Watch Repair.

I had a 2011 TT Sub LN and 2016 Batman serviced and refinished having got the recommendation on here.

I am staggered at how good they are. They look brand new. Fantastic service. About 4 weeks and about half the cost of Rolex. Alastair and his team all have Rolex backgrounds. It shows. Top bloke, top business, top service. I'll put up a quick video later so you can see the workmanship.

    Fully recommended.

Great to hear! Alistair and his team are superb and deserve to get more business.

Are they Rolex-accredited, with access to genuine OEM parts?

They're not Rolex accredited, but they do have access to genuine OEM parts. I believe all of them worked for Rolex in the past.

    How does that work, then?

They source through their own network of watchmakers - this is becoming much more difficult as supply of parts tightens. They're not sure for how long they will be able to do Daytona's for instance.

Alastair's a good friend of mine from his AP days (basically he was the go to guy if you had an issue with an AP)
He met his wife Lou who's their head watchmaker back when they both worked at Rolex, and all their watchmakers have been at Rolex (and trained with other big brands too) so they know their stuff, and can service pretty much anything you can throw at them.

If Stevenage is abit out of the way, they are insured to send watches back to you (up to 30k i believe)

It's really awesome to see some good feedback from people using them :)

There are worldwide oem parts trade groups.

Yes, 30k, that was exactly what he said to me. I was fortunate in that he was on business in the Midlands and called in to collect my 2 pieces. Genuinely nice bloke with great watch talk.

I have just received my Tudor Blackbay 79220R ETA back from Century Watch Repairs and I’m super chuffed. The watch was in need of a service and maybe a bit of a spruce up and they have delivered big time. Turn around was exactly as quoted and I was kept in the loop by Alastair throughout. Great bloke and a great service and just as importantly at a great price.

Cheers Alastair for a great service.

The trouble is that one of my two ETAs is getting flogged but that is a different thread. What a dilemma!
Some pics as it came back yesterday:)

They sound fairly reasonable at prices from £325 for a Rolex service, I assume a crown etc if required is an additional cost.

My Tudor service was about just under £300 inc basic service parts like main spring , gaskets etc and delivery.
Great service :) 4 weeks turnaround too.

What would the price have been at RSJ? Last I heard £250 for a service and £100 for a polish but I could be wrong.

My Black ETA was £380 for a basic service at Tudor in March 2022. Warranty for 2 years , same a Century watches. At least I can deal with Century directly if something is wrong rather than a crappy AD and the months of waiting.

RSC currently charge £700 for a service, if you require a crown or crystal replacement then that’s additional.

Wonder what they'd charge for a JLC Master Control service?

The JLC service is about £750.

The biggest concern would be OEM parts.

Give them bell as only they can answer your queries on costs and parts etc. As mentioned previously they seem to have access to genuine parts of some brands .

Just to add to the positive feedback, I’ve just had a watch sorted and serviced by Century. Very pleasant experience - Alastair is very amiable, the job was very fairly priced and turnaround was pretty quick too!
