This – my 1976 Seiko Bullhead Speedtimer.
Bought in a tax-free store in Japan for the princely sum of £40. Several shipboard colleagues either had this model or the Seiko Pogue.
It has the less common bracelet which also has spring-loaded clasp for a comfortable fit.

It’s still in pretty good condition as I went on to buy and wear a Seiko Sports 100, and the Bullhead didn’t see so much daylight after that.

Blimey, that just made my heart flutter, not because of the watch (or cat).
Going back a few years now when my grandad was in hospice end of life care I spent a lot of time with him holding his hand. Your arm is an exact facsimile of his, even down to the faded tattoo. Quite bizarre!

Looks like they did away with the factory symbols on the dial later on, or perhaps they were made outside Japan?
    Cheers,

So far this one has lasted the longest. Doubt I would ever sell it.

Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

I still have a Seiko day/date bought new in 1977. No idea of the reference.

Of watches worn regularly I still have a Reverso purchased in 2007.

That certainly is weird. I hope the memories were at least partly sweet.

My Festina given to me on my 18th from my Nan. A lot of sentimental value. 20 years old old and comes with the oldest batteries for life card that my local Timpsons had seen.

The Suwa symbol is at the end of the text at the bottom of the dial, I think.

Gift from my late father in 1976 for passing all my O levels..Recently refurbed with a replacement bezel from EBay. The original bezel was lost within months of wearing. Now looking for a new clasp.

My first “high end” purchase from 1991 that started my collection. Tag.

My oldest wearer ….Omega PO from 2005 , still my favourite out of my collection.

Had my 16600 coming up for 8 years. Cant ever see me getting rid of it, I bought it after years of saving. Wanted a new Pelagos but a used 16600 was only slightly more expensive, man maths won that one. Still want a Pelagos mind you!

It has been a hectic 8 years of ins and outs since the watch bug really bit, this one has been with me for 6 years and counting.

My dad had this in the seventies and handed it on, my 'first proper watch':

I bought this just before joining up in the mid-eighties:

Then got this in 2000, the first of the 'collection' I would eventually gather:

And I've worn this for about 12 years solid now:

All still with me, the first two were 'just' watches, collecting started with the Explorer II but the EZM1 has been 'on the wrist' for longest.

I remember they were often on SC for reasonable money, even relatively cheap compared to subs etc. last of the true Rolex tool items, enjoy.

I still own and wear my early 90's Animal. This was what I classed as my first proper watch(it was all digital Casio before that so I felt pretty damn cool wearing this), still love the funky 90's style of it, just a shame I chuckled the original velcro strap a few years ago.

Wow must be close to 30 years I've owned this now!

I rediscovered in my loft last year. My dad was in hospital at the time and so I tracked another down on eBay for the donor bezel. Still keeps great time but watch clasp doesn’t hold. Dad was a policeman and didn’t have much money so I was taken by surprise when he bought it for me.

Possibly my 2531, still like new in the Omega box next to a like new 2254.
It's just a matter of time...

In 1959 I bought a Westclox Scotty new for $2.50. Unfortunately I misplaced it entering adulthood.

It kept exceptionally accurate time, too!

And there was me thinking TZ was populated by flippers desperate for their next watch hit.

Great watches on display. I’m proud of you :)

This Jaquet Droz gold Swiss dress watch was a 21st birthday present from my parents.

That means I've had it 40 years this May!

Still keeps good time but, while it was my entire collection for a while once (I wore it on a NATO for a while!), it's rarely worn, mostly family events, these days.

In terms of watches I've bought myself, it's my Breitling Cosmonaute, the watch that transported me from someone who wears a watch to someone interested in watches, which I've owned since 2012.

Only three in my possession pre-date the millennium.

    .

Not ever worn, but partially renovated and fully serviced for sentimental reasons . . . .

Christmas present from my parents in 1959.

    .

Christmas present 1987 (or maybe 88) from a special person.

Probably my least worn watch, but worthy and robust.

    .

Actually bought by me -- April 1994 from Wempe on Jungfernstieg in Hamburg.

"Discussing" the price does not seem a very German thing to do, but we got there.

Interestingly, I could have had an RO (of several in stock) for the same price. That would have been a better decision economically, but I'm not a flipper, so that's irrelevant. I thought (and still think) the Huitième is much prettier.

    .

This has been in the family since it was my Grandad's watch >

I believe it is from the 1940's.
