Firsr impression on an electric van Id buzz

Collected my id buzz cargo last week after 20 years of vw transporters or kombi
Really impressed. Refined smooth and really quick for a van
So much better to drive than my last t6.1 kombi
I’m getting 280 miles on a full charge which lasted me about a week
Very nice interior and well put together

Very jealous - SWMBO wouldnt go for one on the principle we'd have to sell it when we move to Spain. Personal choice but I think I;d have gone for a lighter colour.

    Looks cool.

I see some real anti EV sentiment appearing on social media recently but I don’t understand it myself.

All it seems to be is people complaining that the claimed range is not accurate therefore the car has left them stranded somewhere or that the charging network has let them down. Maybe they should have done some investigating on their car before they bought it.

I have a Tesla Dual Motor and charging it to 90% gets me over 300 real world miles. In the extremely cold weather we had before Xmas I saw maybe a 20 mile reduction on that. One of the main reasons I picked a Tesla over anything else was the superior battery technology.

Also, with a bit of forward planning and not running the battery down to close to zero. I’m not sure how the charging network can let you down. Yes, you may need to drive to another charging station but I would always make sure I stopped to charge in plenty of time and with a bit of leeway left in the battery.

Of course EVs will never replace a ICE sports car like an old 911 etc but as a pure mode of transport, an EV is difficult to beat.

Just purely out of curiosity, seen the version with seats, just not this model. Doesn’t need to be many photos, on here is fine, thank you
