SOLVED Patek barn find help with identification please.

    Hi folks

I’m not sure if anybody in here will be able to help, but I’m hoping to get any info on the Patek in the images, a close friend of mine carries out house clearances and found this watch along with a lovey vintage omega constellation, so I think it could be genuine, I know precisely nothing about Patek, but I was hoping someone on here might.

It’s an automatic movement, with the logo subdial.

I asked him to photograph it next to his 36mm datejust for a size perspective.

I realise that taking the case back off would be a logical step, but that’s beyond either of us, so I really just wanted to get an idea of whether it’s worth taking it for an appraisal.

Thanks in advance for any info.

I presume you only have pictures of it?
I think it’s pretty obvious from the picture you posted that is as real as Elton Johns hair. Sorry I think that is a total fake.
The case back alone does not have the quality found on a real PP, let alone the dial and case

Yes, I have only seen pictures, my first thought was that the case back seems a little undercooked, but as I have never seen nor handled a Patek in the flesh, I thought it was best to check.

🤣 good catch, I didn’t notice that, I think that confirms it.

Needs smashing with a hammer - what's obvious to those in the know is still sucker-bait elsewhere...
