Top quality mail order chocolate recommendations.

Want to splash out for Xmas and to hell with the waistline! Not interested in Cadbury etc or Thorntons which are a mere shell of their former standards of many years ago (remember thorntons Continental?)
Hotel Chocolate are decent for large scale production but after more artisan offerings. Chococo of Wimborne are good but any other recommendations? Ta.

Charbonnel et Walker took over house of Dorchester a few years back and so now make them on the edge of Dorchester, I didn’t rate the house of Dorchester products that highly and they make a lot of products for other people not all of which is high end, and as such the offerings at the factory shop can vary.

Chococo I remember when they had just started in Swanage and a recent factory move to Holton Heath has seen them increase scale, I’ve been around the old factory in Wareham, and they will only use quality ingredients, and so if I need a nice box of chocolates then Chococo are my go to.

Try Slattery, discovered it when I lived nearby and bought them for my wife a few times.

I recommend Venchi chocolate, they also have shops in London. Plus also online.

    Excellent chocolate from Piedmont.

I’ve never had any chocolates as special as those from Pierre Marcolini

So expensive though it’s been many years since my last box!

If you were to consider Belgian «*pralines*» you could be in for a proper Christmas treat. Leonidas is probably the easier to find but there may be others in London.

These guys do lovely chocolates. I’ve been to the shop in Kirkby Lonsdale, but they also do mail order.

Only when you get the one mixed with Daim bar.

    Sugar tax ruined it though.

Took a watch walk at a local mall, but they also have a Laderach chocolate store there. Swiss company and picked up a Bailys Irish cream truffle chocolate. $3.00 Canadian, but worth it every so often

Yes there’s a store now in Regent St. London - enormous slabs of various flavours in the window. No prices though but extortionate comes to mind.

I like the pre packed bars from Zotter
-Possible to buy a selection mail order
    Austrian I think.
Only problem is the mesmerising choice of flavours.the quality seems very good.
    Dolfin make nice bars too.

My son used to work at Hotel Chocolat and the novelty of him coming home with boxes of the stuff on a weekly basis very quickly wore off.
When the shop was closed due to Covid they were instructed to clear out the stock and try to give to charity… but most charities won’t allow alcohol donations, which ruled out a lot.

To this day a can not even look at another Champagne Truffle. I think even our neighbours had enough of the stuff. It got to the point that I just wanted a bloomin Cadbury Fruit & Nut.

I have to agree. Leonidas are the best I've had too. They have a large range and you can get them delivered. They always go down well as a special gift.

    Solkiki

Best i've come across, trying a range of prices - Solkiki.

Award winning, varied styles & tastes & a tiny, but super friendly independent too. £8-15 a bar but never been unhappy with them, also do boulders & other oddities. Quick postage & they normally throw an extra bar in when ordering a few......
