Tag Heuer Service Help

Hi All,

I recently picked up a Tag Heuer Formula 1 quartz (age c.1999/ early 00's), which hasn't been running for many years since the battery died (I know the previous owner), and so it needs a full service with replacement battery.

Its a 40th birthday present for my best mate who used to have the same watch when we were at school, but lost it years ago.

I previously contacted Tag, but the estimate service time was crazy long and the price was more than the value of the watch itself.

Any suggestions welcome, or if anyone on here might be able to help?

Is it a chronograph or 3 hander? If it's a 3 hander I`m happy to sort it out, but not a chronograph. Quartz chronographs are a nightmare to fix without the expensive test equipment that I don`t have.
