I also prefer the subtlety and class of the old logo (I had to look for a better photo - not one of mine).
Am I on my own thinking the old full International watch co logo looks better than the modern IWC logo?
Sometimes I wish they would bring it back for some the historical models they introduce, especially if they whey limited edition.
I always find the IWC shouts what it is but the old logos just whisper you into there world.
Maybe I'm just stuck I'm the past?

Yes, much prefer the old logo. Don't know why they feel they have to change.
I feel the same about the Hanhart logo
Old (lovely)
New (not bad but not as good)
Nope not alone the International Watch company logo is far superior to IWC
Hanhart really needs to return to the old log
I can’t look at a Hanhart with the new logo. It’s a total turn off
Personally I prefer the new logos for both iwc & hanhart. Way more clean.
Definitely International Watch Co for me. And the Mark 11 is the best looking watch ever.
even the clean mk11 font looks cool.
I agree with hanhart too.

It is possible to have the best of both:
Much prefer the old logo. Adds class to my eye.
Best Regards - Peter
I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
I prefer the old logos by quite some margin on both IWC and hanhart.
Never liked script logos on anything, personally. I don't mind the long logo in caps on the XI at the top of the thread, but the 'IWC' with 'SCHAFFHAUSEN' underneath as seen on the XII and Inge 3521 is my favourite. Looks especially nice in black on a white dial.
Always prefer the old script dials on most watches.
IWC cal 88 from 1946
I prefer the old original script Seikos too.
Cheers,
Neil.
Here what you say Baden but I’ve grown to love this as well..
For me the san-serif vintage stye applied IWC logo seen here is one of the greats, and is preferable to the modern version. It says well engineered and no nonsense, and perhaps also that it's a manly watch for men in a way that only a watch from the 60s / 70s could. The sort of men who shoot things with harpoon guns.
Agreed on the old style Seiko Skyliner logo earlier though, being hard to read from a distance it forces you to look at the lovely design and not just the brand.
I'm afraid "International Watch Company" sounds far too much like a cheap Hong Kong knockoff company trying (too hard) for credibility to me to encourage much confidence.
IWC, while still meaning the same thing, doesn't have that connotation.
I know their watches are good, but the name isn't.

Hats off to Eddie for a faithful recreation of the Smiths logo and crown / tits device.
Beautiful! Modern and classic at the same time

Imagine it's so long ago that you could simply decide to name your new company 'International Watch Company' and no one would have thought of that yet, and that you can then trademark a logo that is three letters. If you've ever tried to think of a good brand name in the 21st century when they're all taken, there's a certain charm in that.
New one is an easier marque to fit on more dials. Never thought about it before but the old script with the new marque (as seen on the bund) is a confused branding technique.
So glad there was no internet, nor watch forum back in 1868. Imagine an American dude trying to set up a watch company in Switzerland and the company he wants call it the “International Watch Company”…..He would have been a laughing stock…..
