    Renata warning

I know you guys are predominately auto men but I got my 7548 out of the safe today to adjust the time and noticed it was showing the low battery sign
So popped it on the bench for a quick swap and was horrified to find the sight below -bear in mind the watery was still working -
Recently I’d switched to using Seizaiken (Seiko) batteries

    That’s a scary sight!
I only use Renata (even in the kids watches) as I am/was under the impression they were amongst the best in terms of quality.
Are any watch batteries guaranteed against leaking?

Apparently there are fake Renata batteries out there. Can I ask where you got them?

My thought too - Amazon and ebay are rife with them.

If renata are faked are the seiko batterys faked as well then?

I do tend to buy off amazon based on seller rating.

I think the other warning here is don’t store Quartz watches running in a place like a safe out of site for a fairly long time. I know a lot of CWC collectors etc (especially G10s) take the batteries out and pop one in when you intend to wear the watch.

I used to buy my Renata batteries from the likes of Silvermans rather than Amazon or e-bay.
