Agreed. Plenty of new test cricket fans related over the last few weeks too
What a pleasure it’s been watching the test side over the last 4 matches.
Some of the best, most positive and most exciting play I’ve ever seen and against good opposition.

They do seem to have turned it around after some dismal results
They are playing very well
Some of the reports from the supporters are not so positive, some very nasty elements seem to be creeping in to the game.
I was at TB for day 1 and EGB for day 2.
England got the run-a-round both days.
Yet ultimately won both games, which really highlights what an amazing format 5 day test cricket is.
Superb turn around by the coaching staff and the players, great to see them all contributing.
As regards the racism at EGB, it's been around cricket for a long time if we are honest, but to be frank, Indian supporters are quite capable of racist chanting, especially towards Pakistan. I've heard it over the years. So it's not just an ENG problem

Fully agree, my point was really to contrast with the 'creeping in' comment from a previous poster.

I think it is creeping in. I do not remember racism being spouted by the crowd at any match I have been to before, nor do I remember fighting in the stands. (I should stress I have only ever been to England tests and one days)
Either way it is not a good thing and should be stamped out.
Brendan McCullum and Stokes as captain has brought about a buccaneering spirit to the side - and I'm enjoying it!
Bairstow looks like a new man.
Cheers,
Neil.
Just shows the difference mindset can make - they haven’t suddenly became more skilful players, simply utilising those skills better due to mindset!
Unbelievable chase by England to beat India, looked
Highly unlikely going in to day 4 that England would win
Fours hours on the train for 90 minutes cricket, but fully worth it.

Most incredible Test Match result since this morning!
That's why I love Test cricket over all other formats - just incredible.
I totally agree !

Interesting comments, many purists would argue this "Bazball" era isn't 'real' test cricket.
The attacking fields, the big shots, tests done in 3 days etc a lot of its coming from the shorter formats

Whats amazing is the refusal of other teams to subscribe to some of the central insights of Bazball.
If India had batted in their second innings at the same rate as England in theirs then, based on overs alone, they would have won.
Obviously, they eschewed the extra risk that implied to try to conserve wickets. But essentially the insight that an aggessive chase has more chance of succcess than a defensive one has been proved correct repeatedly.
Exactly my point.
The comments "test cricket is the best, I love tests over the shorter forms" etc, when made in reference to the Stokes era are missing the point.
Would be more accurate to say "I love test cricket now Stokes and his pals are giving it a right good go"
Comparing the lasts two years with what went before is like night and day. The number of times I've gone to the test match, watched the batting team score less than 250 in the day, and only see 3 or 4 wickets drop! The newspaper, spread betting and the picnic were the only entertainment on show!
Not any more! Big call to buy a ticket for day 4!

Incredible performance by England and India have more injury problems going into the next test
Would be amazing if they could win the series over there
