A few have popped up on SC over the years, I’m sure for a lot less than that

I can recall two appearing in my time on the forums but I could be wrong. They've never appealed but seeing these while looking for a true Marine Chronometer, they're growing on me.

Those prices seen very high, it have they risen that much and more of late? Not sure even STS still service these.

    They serviced mine quite recently.

Always had a thing for these, especially when first produced - the accuracy was unbelievable.

How "recent" was that STS service ? In the Vintage Omega forums someone got confirmation from Tony last month that they were no longer serviced !

Crazy prices and the wheel date is wrong on the second one, could be a 1510 movement they used to replace the original 1516.

"Someone" trying to depress the prices?

"someone" who's a regular over there and who speaks to Tony regularly, no reason to doubt him but maybe you know something that others don't ? In that case feel free to share.

I sold one on here about 3 years ago.

Great watches. Every serious Omega fan needs to try one.

I would not use Watchcollector as a barometer of any vintage Omega prices. He has been known to hoover from here and whack on his site with 50-100% mark ups. I know this because he bought a Speedsonic from SC via Tom Dick (Dickstar1977 of old on here) which was up on his site for twice the price, with my STS receipt on one of the photos.

I posed a question - did not make a statement

Dare I say it's an ugly watch to my eyes?

I'm a big fan of 70s Omegas generally and each to their own, I know, but that's a case (if not a face) only a mother could love

Happy to save my money in this case.

It was about a year ago....they still had the module in stock.

Got to say it's a contender for my favourite watch

While it may look incongruous, today -on the wrist............ It emulates the classic ship's marine chronometer face of round dial in a rectangular surround.

If I owned one today - I would have a small case/presentation box in a nice exotic wood, whereby -it was presented as a side table clock (and regulator, obv)
