    Watch Fair near Colchester 15/05/22

    A heads up for those in the East who like a Sunday morning drive with high expectations of a bargain, decent coffee, non-gristley bacon roll and go away disappointed

    Essex Clock and Watch Fair

    15th May 2022 at 9.00 am.

    Entry £3.00 (£2.50 after 12.00)

    NO EARLY ENTRY. (That means you Jase)

    A huge assortment of clocks, watches and related items.
    Specialist dealers in tools and books

    Something for everybody at our spring fair at the Marks Tey Hall.

    Just off the A12 at its junction with the A120.

    It was pretty disappointing ( again ) there were some nice vintage watches there, for crazy money, a lot of dross, a lot of clocks and lots of gray beards. I did have a cheap pick up though, which worked out nicely, but it’s nothing special. I’ll take a photo.
    As ever, the best bit was catching up with Derek and Rob.

    The only thing I picked up was this old 1970s Citizen quartz Crystron, great condition, lovely blue face and hooded lugs, non running but was fine with a new battery.
    Nice quality watch for a fiver.

    Really good to catch up with you both today but as Jason said the majority too expensive
    A antique jewelry and watch dealer that I know came along , his first time I think and not impressed , he thought it was very overpriced and remarked that it was retail prices plus a bit more .

    Thanks, I like it too, September 1976 from the serial, its really well made, as were most quartz of the era.
