Would moving the date to the left have meant less work to modify the movement?
Less work, less cost, etc.
I mean date is still adjacent to crown. They have literally turned it around. I would argue perhaps keeping date on right and moving crown is more work. But I am definitely not a movement expert so perhaps someone more knowledgeable may comment.

It’s no less comfortable but not sure...
Do find it hilarious that we are all ogggling over new releases when we can even buy the current releases. It’s like having a fit bird you can’t hump or in the case of the ‘After Eight’ its a 2am 10 Pinter.
RIAC
I cant spot any differences between the old DSSD and the new DSSD.
Bit of a head scratcher.
Also struggle to see the update on the DSSD. The green and black GMT is hideous. Love the fluted bezel on the platinum DD, bit waay too much cash for me.

This DJ41 looks really nice. Not into the green GMT.
There is an off-catalogue YM on Oysterflex with a purple gem set bezel which looks interesting but way out of my price range.
Would like to see the the falcon eye YM42 in person.
Not a clue what’s different with the Deep Sea. Waiting for videos explaining.
On the list for a BlackBay Pro though. That looks really cool.
Rolex pepsi, rolex coke, rolex root beer, Rolex after eight.
Had my name on the list for a yellow OP41… I guess that ship has sailed then. Have called Laings to change it to green or blue now, but really did fancy that yellow one.

Im left handed but part of the joy of wearing on right wrist is no crown irritating the back of my hand!
New gmt = :(
An unimpressive set of releases in my view, soon to be in an exhibition display near you.
Register interest in both the 31mm and 36mm Green Datejusts. I've been on a list for the root beer for 4 years now so not expecting anything any time soon

The annual hand wringing ceremony is in full force, I see.
Nothing earth shaking here but it is not every year Rolex comes out with a ceramic Daytona or a Skydweller.
The refinements to the Air King are quite welcome. Have always been a fan but sold it because couldn’t get along with it because of the 3,6,9 markers. Will definitely get that.
If there is one watch in the new line up that I am motivated to get, it is good enough for me.
‘With its latest creations, Rolex shines the light of optimism and innovation on the watchmaking world.’
I’m struggling to see where the optimism and innovation are - either I’m missing something or they’re using a very dull light!

The 126660 is a very short term model for a modern Rolex, watch values jump.
Ugh, dull!

Regardless of what year it is and what was not released or not released, I can picture a question on Family Feud
We interviewed 100 people round the world and asked them what was their response to this year’s releases.
The top 5 answers were
1 Dull/ not exciting
2. My wallet/bank account is safe
3. Wish I had slept through this
4. No 42 mm Daytona?
5. No Coke GMT?
The pronounced crystal on Rolex is one of the things that really draws me to the models. My 114270, 116520 and 116600 all have fairly pronounced crystals. I think with the DSSD it suited the sleeker crystal to bezel look.
I do love how everyone complains that little to the taste of nerdy, hardcore, mostly-European 'WIS' gets released every year!
Seriously? We are no longer the most-important market to Rolex - this release is all about the Eastern hemisphere - GIGANTICALLY bigger market, with enormous growth potential, and not one that shares too much in the way of tastes and size-prefs.
That flower diamond dial datejust is gopping

41mm OP Turquoise Dial, looks to have gone along with Coral and Yellow
Both GMT LH and RH models are calibre 3285 so they have simply spun the entire case around and made a new dial and date disc.
Is it April 1st already???
