Cool Meteorite Daytona - just bought it :)

Just picked up another Daytona. Discontinued white gold & meteorite dial. Mint condition as it has lived its life in a safe.

I picked the discontinued model as I far prefer it to the new ones:

    - meteorite sub dials
    - splash of colour, with the red hands
    - full white gold bracelet
    - metal bezel works better with the silvery dial
    - discontinued

Yet, even with all that, it's actually cheaper than the new one!

Gorgeous watch. I'm not a Daytona fan personally, but this dial sure helps!

Love this watch. Always coveted it, never seen one in the metal.

    Congratulations.

Meteorite Daytona - just bought it

Love it also, and I also prefer this over the current ceramic meteorite

I'm not usually keen on these, but love this dial. Congratulations.

Cool watch. I can’t imagine it’s the most legible dial but that’s not really the point!

Learn something new everyday- didn’t even know it existed in this combination!

Very different for a Daytona. I wonder what will get more wear with both this and the platinum daydate also with the meteorite dial.

I've got a real soft spot for a meteorite dial. There's something so exotic about a material that fell out of the sky from space, maybe it's from watching SpaceCamp in the late 80's as a child!

The level of magnification is extreme, as I used a macro lens, and then zoomed in further digitally. Do that to any watch, even a Geneva seal watch or a Grand Seiko, and you will see issues, although fewer than on (any) Rolex.

Ever looked at the underside of AP hands? GS gets that right though.

I slightly prefer this Daytona to my meteorite Day Date. The dial has more going on with it, simply by being a chrono. I will definitely wear this more, as I love Daytonas anyway.

In fact I almost put it on a par with my baguette dial Platona. That's how much I love this one.

Great looking watch if you can pull it off. Don’t think I have seen the combo before. Also interesting it was cheaper than the new one. Did you buy from a grey dealer?

Congratulations l. It is a lovely watch but there are other PM Daytonas I would consider before this.

That’s a stunner and as you say the red accent’s really pop. Enjoy

It's a 2012 watch, which spent its life in a safe. So yes, I bought it from a "used watch" dealer.

These were discontinued a few years ago, and few were made as white gold Rolex used to struggle to sell until very recently.

Apart from baguette Platona, I really can't think of one I'd rate above this, personally.

Very nice! Am I right in thinking the dial on each watch is unique because its made from the polished rock?

Yes, each dial is unique. But made from a slice of iron Gibeon meteorite (not rock).
