I stood behind in in the queue at the kiosk. he paid paid looked at me, laughed said I thought you was Nucking Ritchie!!

He doesn't really ADD anything to the original, though, does he?

It's not terrible, I agree, but why listen to that rather than the original?

Anyway, covers of 80s songs by modern artists belong in a different thread, surely?

Told you I would be shamed…

Im 52 and have 3 kids in 20’s all driven mad being brought up with real 80’s music in the house in the car so much that they still listen to it all even now so my job is done haha.

The HS version I think is a solid crack at it with decent musicians and its great that they the yoof love the track enough to pay homage.

I'm a bit older than you and my kids are in their 20s, too, and they love '80s music as well.

My daughter and I used to go to a lot of gigs together (80s bands and modern ones), but she still reckons 80s music is the best and my son seems to listen to nothing else!

    I'll forgive you this one

All fair, guess i was starting from the low bar of 'not messing it up' though. Wouldn't look it up instead of PG for sure.

Couldn’t be asked to read the whole thread reply’s so don’t know if it been mentioned before but for me best 80s songs are The Smiths I still love them now,
Sold all my lps a few years ago and every smiths 12 inch, my daughter recently brought a record player and also started listening to the smiths, I felt it was my duty as a dad to buy her all the smiths on vinyl

This is what I was trying to say earlier in this thread. I’m 53, kids in their 20’s and they enjoy 80’s music - I think it was a vintage decade for music, and not just because I was a teenager at the time!

    Best songs of the 80s

^ that is a favourite of mine and I find her enjoyment of singing it even better than Donna Summer. One of the earliest proper electro tunes - 1977

Very underrated band of the 80s, but I find these songs better than Kyrie:

Broken Wings is great, but you don't hear Kirie as much and I recently heard it, after a very long time and couldn't get it out of my head. You know how it is.
