I need some steak knives to replace what remains of a cheap set I’ve had for 20 years (handles have broken off all but two).
Had a quick look around and there are plenty of choices but while browsing Etsy for something else for a present, I stumbled across handmade/forged/Damascus and other great looking things.
I know there are some very knowledgeable people on here when it comes to knives.
I want to be able to chuck them in the dishwasher on occasion (or more to the point, not have to panic if the wife does) so Damascus is out as beautiful as it looks.
But what should I be looking at realistically in terms of a usable low maintenance but effective steak knife?
Budget of £100 I guess for four steak knives - but could go further if something appeals, although of course I would be happy to pay less.
