Watching that show on school holiday weekday mornings was a rite of passage back in the mid 70s ... Monkees, Banana Splits, Why Don't You ... etc etc.

Love the music. RIP Mike. Will now go and play "Listen to the Band" which he sang vocals on.

    RiP Mike Nesmith.
Saturday morning TV growing up in our house consisted of Thunderbirds, The Banana Splits, the Monkees and then the wrestling on The World of Sport.

Did I imagine that he was the original brains behind MTV and that his mum invented Tippex?

    He wrote some lovely songs.

    RIP Mike.

Heathdale Avenue Hounslow was a morgue on Saturday when all us kids were watching those monkeys monkeying around, what fun we had and what great memories were made.
RIP Mike (bobble hat wearer extraordinaire).

    No, she didn't.

She invented Liquid Paper correction fluid in the early 1950s. Tipp-ex was invented by Wolfgang Dabisch in the mid-1950s.

RIP Mike, loved the Monkee's show growing up... a sort of third rate Beatles, I think it was based on a Hard Days Night. Always thought his bobble hat was a bit odd though?
