"Well they would say that ... wouldn't they!"
Very sad news, loved the TV show and annuals as a nipper. RIP Mike.

Watching that show on school holiday weekday mornings was a rite of passage back in the mid 70s ... Monkees, Banana Splits, Why Don't You ... etc etc.
Love the music. RIP Mike. Will now go and play "Listen to the Band" which he sang vocals on.
A great programme from my very younger days, made some great tunes as well.
RIP Mike
Another bit of my childhood gone.
I am particularly fond of this
RIP Mike.
I loved the Monkees.
Such an underrated band that had some classic songs.
Corky aka Circus Boy.

RIP Mike Nesmith
I used to dash home from school to watch the Monkees. Fun group to watch.
So glad there are a few on here that feel the same as me, just so many great memories from growing up in my early teens
Another one from my childhood gone 😕
One of my favourites from a later day album: Me & Magdalena

Mike Nesmith wrote this, a song I’ve always liked. Stone Poneys.

RiP Mike Nesmith.
Saturday morning TV growing up in our house consisted of Thunderbirds, The Banana Splits, the Monkees and then the wrestling on The World of Sport.
Did I imagine that he was the original brains behind MTV and that his mum invented Tippex?
A shame. The only actual musician in the made for TV band.
He wrote some lovely songs.
RIP Mike.
Cheers,
Neil.
Very sad news. Both My sisters were mad on watching them. Mostly for Davy Jones
Heathdale Avenue Hounslow was a morgue on Saturday when all us kids were watching those monkeys monkeying around, what fun we had and what great memories were made.
RIP Mike (bobble hat wearer extraordinaire).

RIP Mike, loved the Monkee's show growing up... a sort of third rate Beatles, I think it was based on a Hard Days Night. Always thought his bobble hat was a bit odd though?
