Thread: 'Stealth fighter' Shadowhawk.

    'Stealth fighter' Shadowhawk.

    Here is a recent pickup.

It is the Citizen PMD56-2973. It was said to be the Ultimate Nighthawk and has the nickname ‘Shadowhawk’. Its cushion case design was said to be based on Stealth fighters and the dial was said to be conceived from a satellite dish design.
The way the crowns integrate into the case is quite attractive in my opinion

It was a JDM only model and therefore came with Citizens, then, top hardening process Duratect/MRK and then coated in DLC. It has an AR coated sapphire crystal and has Citizens ‘trick’ clasp, allowing the bracelet to be adjusted on the wrist.

It is solar and atomic (Japan only). The time can be synced easily however, by using a readily available app.

It has a 24 hour dial in the centre of the dial and this can be used as a GMT with a second time zone instead if you wish. The hand can be set independently and jumps an hour at a time. This dial is unusual in that the hand circles outside the dial, pointing inwards to the time.
The crown at eight o'clock controls the internal slide rule chapter ring

The watch is fairly wide at 46.7 mm to the crown but is only 47.5 mm tall and 12.7 mm thick making it a very wearable size. It is all titanium and is therefore quite light for a fairly large watch. Citizen did three models with this case design but they all have different dial designs, this model was the top of the range with its full DLC.

Usual blue Citizen lume with green lume for the GMT hand.

    Some wrist shots

They are not often seen and don't come up for sale very often, it is in good condition with just slight wear on the sharp edges of the bezel, so I am pretty pleased with the acquisition.

You do find some interesting stuff to show us, and I'm glad you do. By the way, what does L M H No on the dial mean?

I would guess that is the solar charge status, low, medium, high and no charge.

That indicates the strength of the signal when the watch is time syncing, Low, Medium or High. The tail of the second hand points to the relevant point.

When using a phone app to sync, the watch will point to 'H' for high.

    Cheers!

Mind you, it seems if you are in a small minority on here.

It is a watch forum but unusual and seldom, if ever, seen watches on the forum don't seem to generate comments as compared to stuff seen a thousand times or more. Pity really.
