Sorry to hear this. Hope it gets better soon.
I have just doubled my watch collection in one fell swoop.
I woke up this morning, and something was odd - I had double vision, two perfectly aligned images of everything I could see
Wendy drove me to the hospital, and after a battery of tests, I was told that I had developed 'Diplopia' or double vision, caused by damage to the nerves in my eyes due to my diabetes.
It's a right pain, because it means that I now have to wear an eye patch when I'm driving , to stop me seeing double. I've been told that the nerves re-grow after a couple of months, and that I should get better. If not, then I'll have to get new specs that will 'focus' my two images into one, but I can't get these until the condition stabilises in a month or so.
In the meantime, I now have two watches on my left wrist :D
Sorry to hear this. Hope it gets better soon.
Sorry about this, I've my eyes tested 6 monthly as I too am diabetic (type 1) .. but it looks like it's caught early enough to have no long term damage. Mind you if I ever get double vision I'd be shocked as I've only one eye that works ..
/vince ..
Hope you get better soon. Sounds like a right pain.

Sorry to hear this Doug, but I like your "glass half full" attitude!

Sorry to hear that Doug. Must be a complete pain as it must affect all sorts of things like reading, typing, even eating. Hope your vision is back to normal soon. :)
Best Regards - Peter
I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
And probably you're gonna have the first threesome with the missus :)
However. You are not alone...

My condolances.
On the upside now you get to genuinely wear an eye patch! How cool is that?!
Sorry to hear that this is happening to you Doug, and I hope this will be over very soon
otherwise it would get difficult to chose which of the two channels near the cottage you should avoid... (both I gues.........)
Jeroen
Sorry to hear that news, hope your recovery is swift. :)

I've heard of this before Doug and he made a full recovery, good luck.

Hi Doug,
From a fellow diabetic I wish you a speedy recovery and the best of health.
Tho it has its benefit I suppose,2 pints,2 £10's and 4 tits.........
Very sorry to hear Doug. I hope the problem corrects itself soon.
That must have been a bit worrying when you woke Doug
As others have said I hope things sort themselves out in the not to distant future
Cheers,
Ben

Speedy recovery, Doug.
Hope you get well soon Doug. There is a crossover WIS/Diabetics marketing opportunity here. How about Rolex branded eye patches? That coronet would look quite cool on an eye-patch? .
hope you get better soon doug, sounds irritating. i hope your
health returns quickly mate :P
Hey can I buy the duplicate watches - and can I choose which of the double I have?
Seriously, sorry to hear of this; hope all returns to normal soon

Good on you Doug for not seemingly being too downbeat about this. A bit of a bummer and hope you recover sooner rather than later. In the meantime, enjoy your enlarged collection while it lasts - hopefully we'll hear you moaning soon that you've lost half of your watches!
I hope this improves sooner rather than later Doug.
Dave
Sorry about that, but I like your attitude mate.
Sorry to hear this Doug - hope things come right soon - take care sir :)

Way late, but get well soon Doug

Hope you get well soon mate!
In the meantime, enjoy the extra watches :)
Hope it fixes itself soon. No point in having two watches if they're the same, you'd just be tempted to sell half of them :P

It does have it's compensations. I've just been watching 'The Specialist' with Sly Stallone and Sharon stone............. I didn't know which pair to look at - spolilt for choice

My former boss had that - it corrected itself after a few months and he sees just fine now. It was a right pain for him at the time though. He had to get some sort of prism on the lenses of his glasses to force the vision back (or something).
He ended up seeing a number of different specialists though before he got some straight answers. Make sure you have been correctly diagnosed and with something potentially as serious as this I would definitely make sure you have a second opinion - especially if your first was with the NHS.
Sorry to hear about that Doug.
All the best my old china. :)
Cheers,
Neil.
