Seriously cool 8) .
A brand from Iceland, who would have known  .
But it's a really classy design.
Enjoy,
Daddel.
While stroling through the main shopping street in Reykjavik we came across this small store:

It turned out that this store is the hq of the first and only watch brand of Iceland JS watch. We had a very long chat with the watchmaker and after he showed me the 1919 I was instantly in love. Sooo, I scratched together every cent I could find and here it is. The outer box:

Inner box:

This is what's inside:

Note the engraving on the rotor - I got No. 56, which is No 6 of this series (the first 50 were limited and came with a brushed case)

Note the markers for 10-12h: they were deliberately shortened so that the dial reads 1-0-1: 101 is the zip code for the area where the first landing of an aircraft took place in 1919.

Here's a HWS! at the very site where the landing took place (now it's the Reykjavik domestic airport).

Very cool and unique looks. Great that you got to find out so much about it too.
I like it. :D Can you tell us more? (size(44mm?), WR, price...)
Looks great! And Iceland is a fabulous place (from what I remember as a youngster).
Best wishes,
Bob
cool watch,
Congrats...
Sounds like a great day out, with a great result! Like the looks of that watch, even though I had no clue Iceland ever produced a watch! Congrats.

Enjoy it - you have something very unique there.

Interesting, very interesting watch. Not really SHS... so what is it? The case is lovely.
Isn't it wonderful?Note the markers for 10-12h: they were deliberately shortened so that the dial reads 1-0-1: 101 is the zip code for the area where the first landing of an aircraft took place in 1919.

THIN is the new BLACK
A clever cross between a normal dial and a 'regulateur'.
Very nice indeed. Wear it in health. :)

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
Nice find. A good looking watch & you're hardly likely to bump into someone else with the same thing.

A very nice watch - congrats!
I was in Iceland just a few weeks back, and am still feeling shock and awe at the natural beauty of the place.
I actually searched for that shop, but couldn't find it during the few hours we set aside to roam the 101 district (though, to be entirely honest, I wasn't looking all that hard either).
It's in the main shopping street (Laugavegur) - really :wink:Originally Posted by Dean in Canuckistan
