    IWC 3717, Time gain

    hello everyone,

I have an IWC Pilot's chrono which I got in May from an AD.

After about a month I noticed that it had gained about 1 min 40 seconds vs. my PC time (set to time.windows.com).

I reset the time 4 days ago and it is currently about 12 seconds fast (gain of about 3 secs/day).

    Is this an acceptable gain?

    regards

If it's the quartz version you ought to take it back.

3717 is the 7750 based mechanical. That's within chronometer spec and fine, I think. Mine does about the same.

    I'd be very happy with +3 secs/day :D Not to happy with -3 secs/day :(

What do you expect from a £2600 watch? :D Don't assume that the price has anything whatsoever to do with the performance.

Sounds fine to me and within chronometer specs for a mechanical watch.

Sounds pretty damned good to me! Within chronometer specs, and a gain (which I find preferable).

Very good performance and within chronometer specification.

The sad fact is that price has very little to do with accuracy. A £30 quartz watch would probably be more accurate.
